"My doctor was trying to help us with our mother, and she said to consider an adult day care. We went for a visit one time, and my mother was a little uptight about it. We went for a second time and enrolled her for two days a week, and then we went to three days a week; now we're five days a week. My mother dances there when they have the band, and she reads to some of the other enrollees there which is something that she hasn't done at home; she was bored at home. They do a lot of activities there, the management is fantastic, and I have no complaints. It's an awesome adult day care, and we have been using them for three months now. "

I know a couple who live here because they don't around as easily as they used to and navigating the stairs in their old house was no longer possible. At this facility, they still have their own space, even their own kitchen, without having to care for an entire house themselves. They also enjoy getting to know their neighbors and making friends. They were surrounded in their old neighborhood by many new, young couples and they couldn't get around well enough to visit their friends. Here, friends are just a door away, and several of them at that. They get together for dinner, go to activities, and generally enjoy life. The last time I visited, my friends were having afternoon tea with their friends next door. "Mom goes to Neighborhood House Adult Day Care every day. They feed her a good lunch and give her snack. They also provide a nice dinner. They are constantly keeping them involve with stuff and help with her exercise or seeing if they have plenty of water to drink so they are not dehydrated. They have people come in to entertain them. They do bingo, exercises with ball or balloons. They also do craft projects and cooking activities. The staff is excellent and very caring. "
