Have to admit I wasn't sure about home care, but it has turned-out to be the best thing for Mom. She has lived with my household since Sept '03. We have worked with her and made some progress over the years (knee replacement, shoulder replacement, knuckles) but had a fall in July 09 which she suffered a broken leg (both bones on lower leg & same leg as her knee replacement)She was non-weight bearing till end of Nov. since she has very low bone density and had a bad bed sore on the back of her heel. Avalon referred her to TCH when they released her. A therapist comes 3x weekly, a nurse 1x(was 2x weekly) Her heel is almost completely healed and she can now walk about the house using only a walker & has used it to go into the Dr,etc. TCH has kind, diligent care professionals that I credit for her surprising come-back. They have been coming for a little over 4 months now and will probably soon release her.
