I found Senior Source through our family lawyer. She knew about them and she had been volunteering in a different capacity with them. They initially got involved with us because I have 2 older disabled sisters and they were living with my older mom who's 90. We needed to make a change. Mom needed more care but she was kind of refusing to leave. We needed an intervention like a third party that would be their advocate and could mediate everything. They worked for us for a while. We got first started with home care. They had resources for people that they had approved already and screened to help mom. We did that for a while and then she had a medical crisis. Everything just kinda happened. But the lady of Senior Source knew of nursing homes in the area and she helped us and we got mom right in a place that she thought was the best. They helped with transition and helped with my sister in understanding that mom needed to do this. Also then ended up helping us through that and through my sister needing to go and find a place for herself because she is 73. We needed the house as a resource to keep mom in the nursing home. It was a big transition for us this year and Lou from Senior Source really helped us out a lot. She worked with my sister and talked to her about the places she could go. She actually ended up taking her to the places. She helped her find a really great place which is not far from my mom.

My brother who's in California, was trying to find out people here in Dallas because that's where our mother is. He ran across an article in the Dallas morning news about Senior Source. He called and talked to Lou from Senior Source. He really liked her. So I went and met with her and liked her too. It's been 9 months that we've been working with her. We got the service for my mother who's 89 years old. Lou is an indispensable person. She's been incredibly good at everything. We first got in touch with her because we're trying to figure out what to do with mother and what would be best for her. So Lou recommended a person. She had staff come in and check on her. From there, Senior Source provided us the right direction for my mother.

They've helped me a lot. The social worker that has been assigned to me has been very very helpful. I was living in an efficiency apartment that was eaten by roaches and I was eaten by depression. She found me a good place to live and a good home. She has taken me to doctor's appointments. I am doing much better now. Thanks her and to Senior Source.
