We got Hudson Valley Hospice for my husband. We've been using them for 15 months now. We have wonderful nurses who've come to see him. I have two caregivers, and they have to bathe and shower him. I'm very happy with the individuals.

We got Hudson Valley Hospice for my husband. We've been using them for 15 months now. We have wonderful nurses who've come to see him. I have two caregivers, and they have to bathe and shower him. I'm very happy with the individuals.

My husband had in-home hospice called Hudson Valley Hospice. Overall, the people they provided, the nurses, home aides, social workers, chaplain, and various people were all very kind and compassionate and did their very best during the process. However, I don't believe that they were able to provide the amount and level of care that is needed by a family taking care of a cancer patient at home because it requires a lot of home aide assistance. All they provided was an hour and a half initially twice a week, and then they did eventually do five days a week. An hour and a half of care when you're dealing with someone who is bedbound and basically in their last weeks of life is nothing close to being enough. However, the people they hired were all professional, kind, and compassionate and did their best. My concern was that they were underfunded and understaffed and unable to provide the level of care that I needed.
