My 85 year old father left the hospital just before Christmas, depending on VNA for nursing care and physical therapy. After three days with no contact at all, I contacted VNA and was told that they had people on vacation during the holidays and were short handed. A nurse came to his home finally that evening late, and due to having faulty equipment, could not even check his oxygen levels. After 5 days, I contacted VNA again regarding the physical therapy, as he was sitting in his home getting weaker instead of improving. Again, the therapist in "our area" was on vacation for the holidays, but I insisted that some therapist needed to see him. Finally someone did come out the next day, however, did not show up on the next scheduled day. You can forget any visits on holidays - he had no contact on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day or New Years Eve/New Years Day. I have other friends with elderly parents using other services who had visits every day even on weekends and holidays. This is not a pizza delivery service - these are peoples lives and VNA is responsible for. I don't recommend that anyone depend on this company.
