Located in northwestern Louisiana at the convergent point of Texas and Arkansas, Shreveport is a cultural hub with a rich history. The city is home to 1870,000 residents, of whom 15.5% are seniors aged 65 and older, and considered one of the best places to live in Louisiana. Whether they’re enjoying a day of shopping at the riverfront Louisiana Boardwalk Outlets, trying their luck at one of the city’s famed riverboat casinos or connecting with nature at one of the region’s many gardens, wildlife refuges and lakes, seniors have endless opportunities for recreation and entertainment. The city also offers a variety of family-friendly activities for when grandchildren are in town.

According to the Genworth Cost of Care Survey 2020, the average cost of both homemaker services and home health aide services in Shreveport is $3,051 per month, making it an affordable option compared to other cities in Louisiana which cost an average of $3,241 per month. It’s also far less expensive than what seniors typically pay on average across the United States: $4,481 per month for homemaker services and $4,576 per month for home health aide services.

At Caring.com, we’ve compiled a comprehensive directory of every home care provider in the Shreveport area – complete with types of care provided, services offered and reviews from families who’ve actually used the service. Home care services are only one of the pieces needed for seniors to gracefully age in place.
