The entire team that took care of my mom showed such compassion and was available to us every time I called. The nurse visited us daily the last week We felt secure and fully educated to care for her. They offered the hospice house to us. But we all agreed to keep mom home. I would recommend St Mary’s to everyone. They are so sweet.

If you’re a person of color, please don’t use this service. My family was treated horrible, and I wouldn’t want another African American family to go thru this.

Plkease do not use St Mary Home Hospice. Everyone, including your doctors at the Hospital will tell you they are great. They are not! They will only manage meds and get you equipment. After that, you are on your own. Even when death is hours away. If youre lucky, a nurse will come by for an hour a day. Usually a few days apart. This isnt home care. its a death manager. Compared to other family I talk to, you can get much better and more personalized care. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. Please!

I have had experience with wonderful hospice programs in Florida, but St Mary's Hospice was awful! The nurse came regularly to take vitals but that was it. We had no support because when we called for help, we were told by nurse that she was off duty or in consultation with doctor on her 12 other patients. So we had to google how much and how often to give morphine and what was the death rattle. This hospice is irresponsible and unreliable. After my mother died, I wrote them a 3 page letter and never received a reply. The hospice in Florida was with us the last days of my loved ones deaths, attended the funerals, and were part of the family! Not so with St Mary's Hospice!

I agreed to St. Mary's hospice care provided at a private facility, not the hospital facility, for a friend, based on an ER doctor's recommendation. I had the health care power of attorney and agreed to a DNR order, but no other restrictions, as far as I know. I should have known better because I knew the history of the patient well, but I had never had experience with hospice before. Do not ever let them talk you into hospice care unless your loved one has a clearly terminal illness with only a few days to live. Once I agreed to hospice, the nurse shook her finger at me and told me "never call 911, you must call us." It was not made clear that there would be absolutely no services provided, except bathing and an occasional visit by a nurse. I had to arrange for another person to sit with the patient continuously just to see if they asked for food or water. I will never forgive myself for not understanding well enough what this meant and agreeing to the "service" when the patient was clearly not ready for it.

Both my mother and mother in law received wonderful care at this facility. One in 11/2012 and the other 10/2014. All the staff were very caring and helpful and the facility is very clean. There was a peaceful and homey feel to it. I was welcomed to stay at the facility with both relatives at any time. All there staff and volunteers were very professional and compassionate. I really can not say enough about St. Mary's hospice and what they did for both sides of my family.
