The employees of this hospice for the most part are wonderful people however the management team does not have their act together. We were recommended to this hospice agency when my husband was in final stages of cancer. At the time, I did not realize that there are for profit and NON profit hospice agencies and usually more than one that serves an area. This is a FOR profit agency. We unfortunately did not have the wonderful hospice experience that I heard so many speak about. We had times that medicine would nearly run out because they did not count days correctly (giving me 10 day supplies and saying well that should have lasted 2 weeks), they would not provide the types of bandages that were necessary to do dressings on the tumors and instead wanted me to piece together bandages that they had on hand. They would not provide paper tape, or adhesive remover to help remove the icky sticky from all the bandages. The topper was when they upped the pain medicine and did not notate it in their records. (All records were paper they were not set up on computers). When a different nurse came a few days later she had no clue the amount of meds to give my husband for breakthrough pain. They became very defense with me because of this error on their part to the point of having the director come out and say some horrible things. Despite the relationships that we had with CNA's and Nurse we ended service with them and switched to a different hospice which made a world a difference in the peace my husband and I were able to find during the worst time of our lives. I would not recommend.
