We tried home care for my aunt, and so we got Nurse Next Door- Scottsdale AZ. There is a very nice lady that makes the arrangements and sets it up. However, the caregivers that came were unreliable. They were scheduled to come three times a week, but they would call after the time they were supposed to be there and say, 'My car broke down, my schedule got changed in school. I had a family emergency. I'm not feeling well.' And we went through this for about two months, and finally, we just canceled the service. The gal that was in charge of it was very helpful. She immediately tried to find somebody else, but we tried two different girls and it didn't work out. When they were there, they did a good job, but a lot of times they weren't there. It became more a matter of us accommodating them rather than them helping us out, so we gave up on the home care thing. The concept was great and the services they offered were wonderful, except that they weren't there. The service that we went for was just someone that would come in and spend three hours for my aunt. They would do cleaning, wipe down counters, clean bathrooms, do some vacuuming, light dusting, wipe out the refrigerator, and fix meals. If my aunt needed assistance with showering, they could do that. But she did not at that point. When the young girl was there, she did a great job. She worked and she helped my aunt around the house, but there were several times when she wasn't there, and it just didn't work.
