I am using Happier at Home - Birmingham, AL for my husband. I chose them because it was a smaller company and they provided more personal care. I decided to go with a smaller agency because we wanted consistency with the same caregiver. Their schedule is organized. I have them out three days a week. I've provided the schedule I wanted, and they have adhered to that. They bill every two weeks, and that's fine with me. It worked out well so far. The caregivers are satisfactory. We have two caregivers because if something happens with the other one, like they get sick or have another appointment, we'll have a backup. So that's why it was a good idea to have two.

My dad is using Happier at Home - Birmingham, AL, and we have a good caregiver right now. I was making meals while I was there, but when I'm not, she'll make lunch and bring it to him. And when he's finished eating, she goes and fixes it up. She takes care of the wash, and you don't even have to ask her. She just goes and takes care of it or changes the sheets. If they have the recipe and ingredients, she'll make a meal, just whatever is needed. She's very warm, caring, and interested in my dad, and that makes all the difference in the world. They've worked to schedule out just the way my dad wants it and have worked it out so that the same person could come and take care of him unless the caregiver is out of town. The bill doesn't count to me, but as far as I know, that's going well, too. The value for money is worth it if you've got a good caregiver.

Throughout the 10 years I have worked with homecare assistance for my elderly handicapped mother, Happier at Home-Birmingham is the only homecare agency that is flexible and, when needed, allows for a less than 4 hour minimum stay. Their experienced homecare aides were personable and eager to service the patient.
