My mom was admitted to this facility unable to walk. Just 2 weeks later she was again mobile with her walker and able to get around. The entire staff was great and very helpful. The facility was clean and when I was there when she received her food it looked very good, was hot, and plentiful. The only reason for 4 stars was the responsiveness when my mom pushed the button for help, but I'm relying on her for that information. I would use this facility again.

I was at the facilities for two weeks for rehabilitation after surgery. I was transferred from the hospital after 23 hours observation after my surgery and was put in a room at the convalescence facility. The staff that greeted me were extremely rude and I have never ever been talked to or treated like that in my life. Now I am in intense pain and I request to use a toilet to relieve myself. I was told there was not a bedside toilet available, there was not a bedpan available, the one aid slapped a diaper down on the bed and said this is the best can you get right now. But first she said I must be weighed , on a low cold metal chair which was difficult to get up and down from. Again in a painful manner I was instructed to get up and off of that chair five different times to somehow get it to register my weight. I have blocked out much of the other unkind things that were said to me except to say I called a friend right then to come and get me out of this location. I hope that staff has been offered reeducation in professional interaction when Caring for hurting and vulnerable patients. In their defense other staff members were kind and helpful. The physical facilities, except for the God awful hard bed, where pleasant. The food, some was good some not so good. PT and OT were very helpful.

I love the services here. The staff is very friendly, particularly Shawn, Tamaro, Tanieka, Amber and others. However, I am concerned about the loosening of the Covid restrictions . I have a relative currently in James River and unfortunately I’m about 4 hours away. However, the staff makes me feel comfortable about the services that are being provided. I especially enjoy the Zoom conference calls and I’m very very happy that this is an option provided on the VAHS website. It would be nice if the rooms had phone service (available immediately), without having to work with Verizon to establish an account. My mom seems to be very happy and her therapy is progressing nicely. She does wish, however, there were more television stations to choose from. She has never complained about her meals. I would like to fill out another review at the end of her stay. At this time, she is currently residing there until healed.

Enjoyed my stay at Northampton several months ago...I will definitely recommend this place to others..the therapy staff were amazing and caring. Food was typically great and the nurses responded in a timely manner when I needed help. I can say that I had the best experience there and would go back if needed to.

My mother-in-law was at Northampton Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center before she passed. It wasn't exactly what we expected. The care she was given was adequate and she was comfortable and fed. I didn't have any issues with the staff. The room was fine and had a TV and adequate seating. They have community things going on on a daily basis that we were able to use a few times. She had a semi-private shared room.

For $7000 a month, you would think that the residents would be able to get quality meals, and timely responsive care. Custodial care should be a 24/7 requirement, but on Sunday nurse staff has to handle task outside thier responsibilities.

Never could get a call back in trying to help a family member. Very sad in getting no help. I will never recommend this place to anyone in the future.

I know several people who have been in this center, The center does not have a diabetic menu, and when you ask for something that you can eat the staff get an attitude and take there time getting you something. They discontinue your medication without telling you and don't contact your primary doctor to see if it is ok to stop your meds. They nurses write down that they give you your medication when they really don't and when you ring for a nurse they take there time to see what you need if they come at all. They don't give you the medication as ordered and recently they gave someone too much insulin and found the person out cold then had to rush them to the hospital. I do not recommend this place for recovery unless you don't want to recover.

My Mother was only here for rehab for a short visit. First evening I told the Administrator we needed a bedside toilet and walker she said who told you that and how do I know! She got mad when she found out we were only there for few days to get her strength back. She said she needed to stay a month and the paperwork wouldn't be ready and we had to be out by 10;00 a.m. So we get ready to go home no paperwork, the Nurse at the desk didn't know she was being discharged. The Nurse was mad. We did finally leave, The food was horrible I tasted it. I seen a patient crying and holding on to the rails in the hallway, the nurse pulled her hands from the rail looked mad.

I highly recommend that you “DO NOT” utilize this facility. The staff is extremely lazy, when you ask for help it takes forever, and management within the facility is just as nasty. Patients are not being watched carefully. My mother has been in this nursing home for over a year. She has fallen over 10 times. On top of all of that, she broke her hip and they NEVER told me. It took a visit to a local hospital in order for me to find out she had an old fracture from a fall. When I report issues they try to cover things up for their staff members. Please be aware. I ask that anyone else that consider this place problematic, please report it. That is the only way we can fight back.

I don't even know where to begin. This place was considered for my Grandma for all of 10 seconds. Maybe it was the iffy maintained décor. Maybe it was the almost curt attitude of the people at the front desk. Maybe it was the wandering staff. I don't know which bothered me first but this place was not what I'd expect from a nursing home and in not a good way. This place single highhandedly had Ma and I turn and reevaluate options for my Grandma. She (nor anyone else deserved to live in such a cold place. Then in researching these providers later made us glad we went with out gut (and find a way nicer place from Grandma).
