"I liked The Woodland. There were a lot of people helping the residents out. My sister-in-law ended up there in rehab after we saw it and she did not like that because they didn't have enough help, like a lot of places don't have enough help. She said she had to call and call and people didn't show up a lot of times, but on the interview itself, when I saw the assisted living, I thought it was a good place. It was nice and clean. They had food and the clients seemed to be enjoying it, but that was the assisted living, so they didn't need as much help as you would need when you are in rehab. The staff was very nice. They knew what they were talking about. They answered all our questions. I enjoyed speaking to them. There was some confusion because they didn't know we were coming. We had it scheduled, but eventually, they saw us. The staff was very friendly. She showed us different rooms. The private rooms were laid out well, but some were bigger than others. They all had their own bathroom."

"I loved Commonwealth Senior Living at Charlottesville, but they didn't have the option for compassionate care wherein if you pay for three years and run out of money, they will be able to contact Medicaid and the resident wouldn't be kicked out. But overall, it was something that I liked. If they had that option, that's where my parents would be. The rooms were fine, but they were in the process of building. "

"Heritage Hall Dillwyn is a very nice facility. It's very well kept up. The people are fantastic. They are very friendly and very helpful. They keep me informed of what's going on with my wife. They have bingo and some singing activities. They charge too much though, and that's just my opinion."

"Trinity Mission was a very nice place. My brother had been there before for rehab and really liked it. The staff was great and was very good. They go on bus tours in the next county, and he enjoyed being there. The dining area was nice, and the room was painted; it was for 2 people. It was furnished nicely, and it kind of reminded me of an upgraded hospital. "

"My mother was in Albemarle Health & Rehabilitation Center for over a month. The rehab center did not work for my mom. She is 97 years old. When we put her there, we explained to her that she needs to work hard on the rehab part because she fell and broke her hip before. She did not take to it. She wanted to do it, but just did not have strength and she developed some issues while she's there like bed sores. They decided that she is not a candidate to stay there any longer, and they made us move her out to another facility. We were not going to leave her in Albemarle because it was so expensive. Most of the staff are fine. We noticed that they didn not seem to be staffed very well, and they did not have enough people to answer the phone or return phone calls. They have a very strict visitation policy, like zero visitations while my mother was there and we could not visit her at all. My mother said the food was fine. We were paid for by Medicare for her rehab, but to stay and live there would be $9,000 a month. That is pretty strong."
