I went to the Eastern Star Home to visit a resident with my grandma yesterday. This is a smaller nursing home where you can tell each resident gets individual attention. The staff we came in contact with seemed to know residents' names and acted very caring towards them. The residents seemed to have adequate space, but I wouldn't say that their rooms were spacious. From what we heard from the resident we talked to and saw on a board that listed activities, there seems to be regular activities for the residents to participate in. The residents seem clean and it seems that all of their needs are being met. The residents seem to be fairly happy, about as happy as they can be in having to live in a nursing facility. Most all residents whose rooms we walked by seemed to have something to do or if not that a staff member or family member was talking to them.
