Southern Plaza Assisted Living and Memory Care

My mother is in Southern Plaza Assisted Living and Memory Care. Most everything has been really good. She seems to like it there. They have several activities. I don't know if she's been involved in any of those just yet. Some of them were crafts, Scrabble, dominoes, and stuff like that. She seems very comfortable. She's making some friends. The situation exceeded our expectations. She likes some of the food, some of it she doesn't. We ate with her the first time there, and they had cheeseburgers and they were very good. They have a library. They have jigsaw puzzles set up in there all the time. They have a big room, but we haven't used it yet. It's a wonderful place.

My mom is moving into Southern Plaza Assisted Living and Memory Care. I chose them for referrals. I have neighbors that have family members there. The staff who toured me did not use any slang terms. She explained everything so we could understand it, not just like a nurse or a doctor could understand it. It was everything a normal person could understand. We talked to some of the residents, and they liked the food. They're the only ones we toured that had storm shelters on every floor for every resident. And it's not a normal storm shelter. It's like a large area that has bathrooms and recliners and a huge TV screen to keep the residents occupied in memory care.

Southern Plaza Assisted Living and Memory Care was pretty nice. It would have been about 6 minutes away from my dad's house. I will get there really quickly. They just didn't have availability. It was classy looking. They seemed to care about their patients in the memory part. They had a walking area and their own beauty parlor. I liked the people there. The facility was very clean. The staff made me feel very comfortable and gave me a pretty extensive tour. I just liked her. The dining area was well-lit, and the space was good. They had more than one area.

My aunt is at Southern Plaza Retirement. The rooms are not outrageously priced. They are for the medium to medium-high income level. They're able to get her right next to an elevator, and you don't hear the elevator run at all in her room. It's state-of-the-art. The whole north side of the building is a storm shelter. They can go in there and play movies, music, and games while a storm is brewing outside, and they're perfectly safe. The staff has been extremely helpful and understanding. They're very patient with her and her demands. The food is excellent. I've had lunch with her a couple of times before we got locked out, and I was very pleased both times. They have a refrigerator that's full of snack items that they have access to 24/7. I don't have any complaints at all. We're real happy with it. It fit her financial range really well.

I visited Southern Plaza Retirement. It’s a beautiful place, and my experience there was really nice. I talked to a couple of people, they were very nice, and very business-like. The facility was so nice because it's just a couple of months old. They do have trips to doctors' apppintments if you need that. It was a little more expensive.

I liked the people and the staff that I met at Southern Plaza. They all made me feel very welcome. They have things going on and places to go on the bus. I enjoy the activities and the food is very good here too. They have a room with equipment for workouts that I use. The community is very nice, quiet, clean, and welcoming.
