"Evergreen was very nice and really clean, and the staff was very kind to my mom. She is even Facebook friends with some of them now. The food was terrible. That was one bad thing, and everybody was complaining. My mom wouldn't eat, so I had to bring her food. The people that worked there were wonderful, but the food was bad. The only other thing that I had kind of a complaint about was she had hip surgery and she was supposedly there for rehab -- but we didn't know she was going to need a longer term or whatever -- but everybody at the place was in a wheelchair unless they were at physical therapy for like one hour a day. So there was nobody in the bed, then the wheelchair, then the walker, and then out the door. There really seems to be steps because they are all a fall risk so we can't let them wander about, but on the other hand, how can they get stronger? They had all these alarms and everything on the wheelchairs, so I felt that was really a detriment. And then, my mom started to get really kind of hooked onto the wheelchair. I felt maybe that was just the system, but I didn't think that was very good. They do have a lot of activities there. I don't even mean take them out; I just mean let them -- as they are strong enough -- to use the walker or the cane. Now, she is home and using the cane because she is walking around her own house and everything. If she stayed there, then she would end up needing long-term care because she was getting so helpless. But I couldn't say enough about the workers there. They treated her like their mom. "

"I was told i would get 2 hours of pt a day. That was a lie. I got maybe 1 hour. In bed the rest of the time. Horrible place and so was the slop they called food. Look into other options before going there. I signed myself out after 3 nights. My arm and hands were swollen I was told they would contact my doctor. I never heard back . The first night I was there no one came in to let me know anything. Its like I was left there all by myself. My roommates daughter checked her out because the staff sent her to the doctor with the oxygen turned off. This 80+ lady could have died. I will say the travel cna's were good and helpful except the day i discgsrged myself. I have ms. My my mobility is limited. Three of them picked me up and flung me in the wheelchair. I was glad to get the heck out of there. If you care about yourself or loved ones then don't go or send them there. It wasn't rehab at all! "

"Orchard Ridge opened in 2013, is very nice, and focuses on care in the apartment or detached home you purchase there. They also have a nursing home which they project will be certified for Medicaid in about a year and a half. "

"My husband is in Rose Hill Health and Rehab. So far, it's been very good. The place is very, very welcoming. The staff has been exceptionally good. They always respond when he rings the bell and give him what he needs and do what needs to be done. The dining area is nice and clean. I see residents playing games in a room, and I see them in the hallways walking. The lady that's the head of admissions has been working with us very, very well."

"The people at Heritage Hall Front Royal are very caring. We've always had good conversations with them. Anytime we call, the nurse speaks with us right then and they're very willing to work with us. My mom has dementia and now she's mainly just sleeping all the time. So, she doesn't need a lot of care right now but they're very good with turning her and feeding her and dressing her. We've been pleased with her care. They're very friendly and very warm. There's a lot of food and it looks delicious and smells delicious. Mom's insurance has been paying for her stay there, up until this past week, we'll have to do private pay after, but it's worth the money."
