"My cousin is now at Heritage Residential Care Village. The people are friendly. It is a small place. The area where he lives (the assisted living facility) only has 14 residents. It is fresh and clean when you walk in. The staff loves my cousin. They take very good care of him. If there are any questions that they have, they'll call or text me. Right now, the staff members that are there have been there for a couple of years. They know my cousin very well and are very patient with him. However, there are not a whole lot of activities. Mostly activities are generated by the residents themselves. They play dominoes, cards, puzzles, and bingo. Once or twice a week people come out and sing with them. Every now and then they'll rent the Tuscaloosa trolley, and they'll go around town sightseeing just to get them out. They don't take trips to Wal-Mart or any other stores, but I'm glad that they don't because I don't think my cousin is always very wise with purchases. On Sunday morning they have Sunday school where they have teachers who come in. The food is average. They have a lot of chicken. They have several choices, and everyone eats at the same time. My cousin can eat in his room or he can eat in the small dining area."

"My mother has been in Heritage Health Care and Rehab for a couple of months now. They have been very nice, hospitable, and caring. They have always treated my mother very well, as well as the rest of the family. I haven't tried the food but she seems to be pleased with them. They serve a full breakfast, and then they usually have a full lunch and a sort of full supper, or a soup and sandwich. The facility is always nice and clean, and we're very pleased with it."

"My sister is in Glen Haven Health & Rehab since early March. It was recommended by some people at the hospital, they reached out to her, and they seemed to be very conscientious. She did therapy for a while, and then she had to go back to the hospital and was in ICU for a while. She hasn't started the therapy up again since she has gone back, but I have confidence that she is getting good care. "

"My husband is temporarily in Park Manor rehab right now after he fell. It's been about two weeks, and I know they're doing some rehab and managing his medications and things, but mostly he's there for his fall-related issues. The rehab part is to make his muscles stronger and for balancing. I've only talked to the staff on the phone because they won't let visitors in, and they've been very nice and courteous. You can drop something off, but you can't go in. It's a perfect location for us from where we live. He's happy there, and they have done very well with his cognitive issues. Usually, he doesn't function well if I'm not there in the room with him because of his not being able to comprehend or let his wishes be known. He's done very well during this period. Normally, he'd call me every fifteen or twenty minutes because he's scared or doesn't understand what's going on. They are very patient with him. With me never having been inside or actually in there to see their programs or anything like that, I can only give it maybe a "three" because if you don't see anything, you don't actually know what's happening. I just know through talking to some of the staff and from what he's told me."
