My brother and sister-in-law stayed at The Spinney At Pond View. Their little cottage has an attached garage and is really cute. I like it, but it's small and there aren't a lot of windows. That's the only thing I didn't like about it. There's a window in the bedroom and one in the living room, but there is none in the dining room or the kitchen, in the middle of the cottage. I'm afraid I would probably get depressed in the winter. Other than that, it was fine. They had a nice facility. They have a pool, an exercise room, and most of the stuff that independent living places have. The unit itself is individual, but it's attached on one side to another unit, and there are about four. If you get the outside one, you get an extra window. If you're on the inside, you're going to get the windows on the front and the back. Their price included everything except for electric and heat. I think the size I would have chosen would have been a one-bedroom, around 1500-to-1600 square feet. There are some activities, but not a lot. They didn't have bus rides for shopping or anything like that, but there are events every day. It's a smaller community, and I just kind of wish that there were more affordable units. The way they had their units, when you get out of your car, you go right into your kitchen. I just love that; there are no stairs anywhere. You just you bring your car into the garage, push the button, and your garage door closes. Then you walk into your kitchen, and you unload your groceries. I just love that idea. I would visit my brother, but he has just recently passed away. I actually looked at the place a few years ago for myself, and I brought my brother with me. He loved it, and he moved in there with my sister-in-law before I even got a chance to sell my house. I did see different units, and he took one with one bedroom and a den, which was nice, and it had two bathrooms.
