"This place is run by a large corporation that could care less about the residents but more about money and not paying staff. There is a large mental health population that doesn't get the care they serve. Weak activity program, more rules against what they can't do then what they can. Recently a resident escaped from building and was run over by a staff member. Please stay away from this place. "

"We had to put Mom in a dementia unit at Livingston Manor Care Center. We chose it because it's small and affordable, it is a dementia unit, and it's in her hometown. It's an older place, but it's clean. The staff is caring and professional. They have someone come in to do their hair. They have a courtyard and a common dining area. It's priced well for what we've seen. It's a smaller town, so there's a pretty good- sized hospital, restaurants, hotels, and stuff."

"My friend will move into Excelsior Springs Nursing & Rehab. It's very nice. They have two patients to a room, but the rooms are pretty large. The doors are really, really wide for wheelchairs. They have an activity board, and they have about 3 or 4 activities per day if you want to participate. The hallways are super wide. They have nice TV areas where people can sit in chairs, watch TV and talk. They have a very large kitchen area where people can eat together. They have outside patio, so if you want to sit outside, you can do that. And it's very clean and there are a lot of staff members there. We have no scheduled tour. We just walked into the place and a nurse gave us a tour. She was very nice, very open and she showed us everything. We looked at their dining room and it was very large. They have several people in the kitchen. It was very large and looked really clean. It's large and well-staffed."

"This place is awesome they take super care of my mom, they include the whole family in decision making, my mom is always clean and is well taken care of LOVE LOVE LOVE the nurses and hospice at shirkeys! "

"My mother stayed at Valley Manor in Excelsior Springs. The caregivers were wonderful. We lucked out with them. They were very concerned with their residents. They did whatever they could to try and make them active as much as possible, which they really couldn't because it was locked down when my mom was there. They had positive cases in the building. A lot of the people needed to stay in their rooms, so that was more difficult for them, but they were wonderful. The food was good. The facility was older, it wasn't as bells and whistles as the others, but it was nice. Her room was comfortable and very spacious. The staff was very caring."

"The staff at Excelsior Springs Medical Center is extremely caring and very active. The room is quite comfortable, and with the private bath, it meets my mother's needs. Their dining room is well decorated, clean, and welcoming. They do day trips. They take them to Wal-Mart on a bus so they can purchase anything they need. They have musical guests that come in and provide entertainment. They play bingo and lots of games that keeps them engaged. I am very satisfied for my mom. "

"My mom is at Riverbend Heights Health & Rehabilitation Center. The staff does a good job and we had no problem with the move-in process. It's adequate, but it's just outdated. They have outdoor areas like a patio, and some activities such as bingo, arts and crafts, and some others. The monthly rate is expensive for me, but it's probably average for what you would have to pay."

"The staff is very caring of their residents. And treat them like they are their own family. Both my grandfather and now my grandmother have stayed at this nursing home. The doctor is there 3 times a week to care for their needs, aswell as the director. She has an open door policy and encourages the staff, residents and their families to stop in and express either their praises or concerns. With both my grandparents we have had issues with them not wanting to do as the doctor directed. They cared enough to work with them and explain why they had to do their rehab. Instead of just making them. We love this facility and are happy to have them assist us in the care of our grandmother. "

"My mother has been at Oakridge of Plattsburg for three years. She is loved and well cared for. The staff go out of their way to do the simple things to make her and the other residents comfortable and happy. I've overheard conversations between residents and the staff and they are always kind, supportive and uplifting. I've witnessed members stop what they are doing to do a simple act of kindness. The staff are always looking for ways to make the lives in their care more complete. They are always trying to make their lives more fun! I don't see how the staff members manage to stay positive but I do see them supporting each other so they can go the extra mile. I never worry about my mother's care at Oakridge. "
