"I toured Aldersgate Retirement Community and it is a beautiful place. It's like a village. They have 2 or 3 buildings that are independent living and they also have assisted living. I believe it's a faith-based place and it felt like home when I walked in. They have cottages that look like houses in a neighborhood. The staff who assisted me during the tour was wonderful, just down to earth, and very nice. They have very nice wood floors and kitchens that are up-to-date. They have walking trails with lots of trees so it's private. They also have security."

"Meridian Living seemed very secure and very home-like. Their menus and activities were very impressive. I was very impressed with the staff and the atmosphere of the entire facility. It felt more like a nice hotel, rather than a nursing home facility. The staff that I talked to seemed very compassionate, as well as very attentive. They have a variety of activities going on like arts and crafts and games. Right now, the big thing among the residents is dominoes. They have a dominoes tournament set for the end of the month. In that way, they're also responsive to the residents, because they find something that people really pick up on."

"Summerland Manor will wash your clothes, fix your meals, and clean your rooms. I love this place. It is beautiful. It is kept clean, but they don't take you anywhere, like to go shopping. If you can't drive and don't have a car, you can't do anything and it's not close enough to walk anyway. If you don't have a family that brings you snacks and stuff like that, you're out of luck. It just so happened that I was able to drive in the first few years than I am now. I just take short trips to visit and pick up things at the dollar store and in the grocery store. That's all I do to get out, and they will allow it if you are able to. Only that you have to have your own car. So, that's not a plus for them. The staff is very nice. We only have two nurses for our area and they switch up every week. One comes in more like three or four days at a time and they switch up, and it works out. If something is wrong with you, they'll check you out and they send you up in the emergency room. They have an RN here. It smells nice and they got it set up well. Everything here is beautiful. Yesterday, we had fish and that was good. Everyone got two pieces of fish. We also have fries or rolls or something and maybe a little cornbread or a muffin. That's good. Breakfast is also delicious. I have to get up for breakfast every day. It doesn't matter how tired I am because they have biscuits, scrambled eggs, bacon, or sausage. You don't get hungry. Sometimes the food smells good and sometimes it is not. Whatever they have, it's edible. Some meals are fantastic, some meals are mediocre. Amy gives activities about every time twice a day. There's 10:00 and 2:00. I don't love it very much, unless it's something I want to do, but I just get tired. The rest of them show up and they enjoy it, but I go to all the church activities. The priest would come in and give a talk or sing. I love those and I go to all of those. Their price went up a little bit. It was $3,000 2 to 3 years ago. If you wash your own clothes, they don't charge you for that. They are nice and they try to help you if you need it. If they find out you are sick, they take care of you."

"My mother-in-law is in an inpatient rehabilitation center right now, the North Pointe Health & Rehabilitation. She'll be there indefinitely. The services are great. The personnel is wonderful. They've been very, very kind to her in trying to help her recover some of her ability to walk. I have nothing negative to say about the facility. I have not been there, but I have a meeting on Tuesday with the physical therapist and a few other personnel (it's an audio meeting) just to go over her recovery efforts and what their plan is moving forward. As far as facilities and stuff like that, I do know that there are facilities like dining, therapy and crafts and stuff like that, so those are available to her. My sister has been there, and she said it's a beautiful facility, and that it is top of the line on everything, so I'm going from her guidance. It's very good. It's very thorough. I would recommend it. They seem to be a very caring facility. It's being covered by Medicare and her insurance, so it's wonderful."

"The staff was very welcoming. My grandfather complained about the food but you can not expect much from that type of living facility. There was a spot in the hall where it looked like someone had mopped and not left a wet floor sign. Slippery places such as these can be dangerous. My grandfather's nurse was a very nice lady. I do not remember her name. The visiting hours are well maintained. Smoking is not allowed near the door. There is a sign posted but the rule is not well inforced. "

"My uncle was at Bedford Care Center Of Marion for a week. It was an older facility, but it was clean. It was a very nice place, and the people were extremely helpful. I didn't have any complaints during the time that he was there. They took very good care of him and cleaned him up well. They were attentive to his needs, bathed him, and helped him eat. So, we were pleased with them."
