Village of Hillside

I wanted to take a minute to give my impressions of The Village of Hillside which is located in Harbor Springs, Michigan. First of all, I would like to say that this retirement community is located near beautiful Lake Michigan which is nice for the residents to be so close to nature. I also think that the facility is clean, organized and also very well maintained.I was able to spend about three hours here one day with my family while we were looking at all of our options for care for my mother who has been recently unable to care for herself. I was able to talk to most of the staff that works there regularly and I was impressed with their attitudes. They took the time to sit and talk with the patients/residents instead of just doing their jobs and moving onto the next person. I found them to be friendly and genuinely caring about how the residents are doing.I also enjoyed the layout of the facility. My mother has a pet and this place allows pets to live there with the residents, which was a big positive for us and our situation. Also, there are laundry facilities, cable television, beauty shops, exercise and fitness rooms and also a meeting place for all of the residents to meet up and play games, etc.Lastly, I would like to talk about all of the fun things that are in place for the residents to do. They are able to meet and play bingo and do other things such as play the Wii and have competitions. There are also karaoke and card nights, which helps the residents with making a lot of new friends and feeling like they are part of this retirement community.Make sure to take a look at this place if you are looking to get the best care for your loved one.
