"Our overall experience with Ivy Lodge is very good. They have been very responsible and helpful, and my father is comfortable even though he’s suffering from rapidly progressing dementia. The staff is very good and so is the service. The rooms are very good, the dining area is very good, and my dad is in constant care. I recommend others visit them. It’s a different package than other places, it’s smaller, and more focused. I didn’t get an impression that there’s anything lacking so far."

"We like Memory Care at Eddy Hawthorne Ridge. It was nice. It was just that the rooms were smaller. It was clean and it was good. But when we saw the other place, we liked it better. Eddy Hawthorne Ridge was our second choice. At the other place, we had to write down exactly all the money that was invested and everything, and it was very detailed. But Eddy Hawthorne Ridge was very loose form. But the staff who gave the tour was very, very nice. Eddy Hawthorne Ridge said that after two years, they would lower the price for the residents because I guess a lot of times their houses were put up for collateral and they ran out of money, and they don't kick people out for money, which was nice."

"The staff is wonderful. They go one extra mile to support the residents. They are never to busy to give a smile or hug. Everyone including the dinning room staff show respect and warmth to the residents. "

"Geer Village was beautiful. It's very well kept and very clean. The staff was very gracious. The lady who provided the tour was a lovely person and not too aggressive. She just told us everything we had to know. She was great. The apartment was very, very spacious. The independent living has got anything you could possibly need like there's the stove, a refrigerator, a microwave, and walk-in closets. It's a very nice place. They had many opportunities for recreation. I liked the idea that the YMCA is right adjacent to it, and that you will be members of the YMCA when you live at Geer Village. So, there's the swimming pool and everything else that you're entitled to. I also liked the fact there was a chapel and a visiting priest that comes on Sundays. There are enough elevators available, too. Their dining room was beautiful. The meal plan looked great."

"My mother moved to Loudonville last April. I chose it because when you first pull in it's like an English Tudor and inside are antiques, beautiful rugs and a piano. Outside they got beautiful flowers in the well-kept gardens. The rooms were very nice, very clean and they have some furniture but we also used some of ours. The dining room was beautiful with table cloths and flowers. The staff right to the janitors and the housekeeping know you by name when you go in. They're just wonderful. My mom goes to gymnastics class every morning and to church three or four times a week. She goes to movie night, and on Sundays they got together and made cookies in the kitchen. They can go out in a van to get ice cream at night, sign up to go to the dollar store or local restaurants to eat. I also liked the fact that there is a beautician and a podiatrist that come once a week. I liked the atmosphere there, it reminds me of a resort or a high class hotel and not a rest home. I have no complaints at all and we are very, very happy with them. It's a real positive place and I even told them I also want to live there. "
