Ruth's House has a diverse age group population. From residents in their 60's to centenarians. Ruth's House is the perfect place to age in place for you or your loved one and we meet residents where they are for activity and need levels. We have a tiered program that you can add onto an existing care plan in the apartment you already know and love.
What programs or activities does Ruth's House offer to enrich residents' well-being?
Ruth's House Life Enrichment Director keeps her residents very engaged! She is always thinking of new and exciting things to do - lots of outdoor concerts! A sock hop! Blueberry picking, then come back to bake blueberry muffins! She even had a Very large rubber ducky slip & slide! Yes! Slip and slide! ;)
What places are near Ruth's House or within walking distance for assisted living residents to enjoy?
We are lucky enough to have Michael's Café right on our campus!! Great place to grab a cup of homemade soup, a gourmet sandwich or a loaded salad. The Longmeadow Shops, with CVS, Big Y - great stores and specialty boutiques as well as great restaurants, make an afternoon jaunt quick and easy!
What transportation services does Ruth's House offer to assisted living residents?
Ruth's House has it's own van to drive groups to activities, errands as well as doctors appointments.
How does Ruth's House keep residents' families informed about their loved ones?
Ruth's House executive director sends email updates to families with any new up and coming events as well as notices. We are also currently developing our very own newsletter for residents and families.
Who assesses residents' health and cognitive functioning? How often is that assessment repeated?
Ruth's House has a nurse manager who oversees the memory care neighborhood as well as her team of CNA's. There is also a Resident Care Director as well as the executive director is a nurse. On the traditional side of things - we assess twice a year, or if changes are noticed. In our memory neighborhood, this occurs more often as things could change more quickly. If/when changes are noticed, an assessment is done and communicated with the family.
How does Ruth's House keep residents' families informed about their loved ones' health?
Ruth's House prides themselves on the level of communication they have with their families. Our Nurse manager that oversees our Garden level will call with any changes they see. We also have regular assessments to evaluate if there are changes in you or your loved one and will communicate with your family.

The JGS Lifecare Campus of Care is a 23 acre property with no hefty buy in! You come in and only pay for the services you need. We are conveniently located on Converse Street, yet set back from the road nestled against the woods for a private and serene setting. Our memory neighborhood has a fully secure garden area complete with paved walkways, a waterfall in the center with park benches to sit, relax and enjoy. We encourage allot of outdoor time and space for our residents.
Is Ruth's House affiliated with a hospital if more care is needed?
Ruth's House is on the JGS Lifecare campus. If rehab or long term care is needed - you or your loved one can remain right on our campus. It is great for couples that are aging at different levels, if one needs a higher level of care, you are still on the same campus. We also have two major hospitals within 10 minutes of our campus.
