We chose to move my mother to Ruth's House because it was just the right fit for her between the activities, the food, and the care they provided. The few times we've gone there, it's a happy environment. The food is very good and the place is very clean. They're very quick to take care of any issues and are very accommodating. They have a library, lots of activities, and people coming in for shows. They have a hairdresser's place there, and other amenities, and there are lots of decks for people to sit outside.

We have chosen Ruth's House for my mom, and she will move in. I loved this facility. I found them to be friendly, and I thought the food was good. The facility was clean. I just loved that they had a ton of activities. There was also a lot included with the cost. They will give her showers, and they're going to give her her pills. It's a beautiful and friendly place. I have tried their food and it was very good. They had a theater room, a library with a little bird that sits on its cage, and the common areas were beautiful. They would take them out to lunch, and they had lots of entertainment. The staff is all friendly and really helpful. My mother started choking at lunch and everybody rushed over to help her. Even the housekeepers we met were nice. All the residents that we met during lunch were very happy, and everybody that I know who has his mom or a relative there has been very happy.

Ruth's House was exceptional and professionally run. The people were very nice. The director was well informed and great in her presentation. There was a lot going on, like people playing cards and reading.

We got a very brief tour of Ruth's House because they didn’t know we were coming. The place was beautiful, and everything was gorgeous. The rooms were fine and accommodating. The staff who gave us the tour was inexperienced and didn’t know a lot about the place. I think they need to improve the people on their front desk, and they need to improve on the welcoming because they didn’t know we were coming. They should always have a welcoming person.

I really liked Ruth's House. It's very clean and beautiful. There are a lot of different types of assistance, and the spaces were nice. I liked the philosophy they had -- which was very much like the Reggio Emilia preschool philosophy which is kind of unique to develop people's intellect and keep their minds active. They have stations that they change monthly to provoke conversation and thinking. There are a lot of interactive things used to get to know the residents. It was a fascinating approach to stimulate people and to help them get to know each other. The garden access is open to everyone and is monitored by a monitor they wear, so they always know who?s going out, and it's not like they're locked in. There's a lot of flexibility for those with memory issues. They had a very big schedule of activities with lots of choices every day. The problem with the place is it's too big, and for someone with memory issues and confusion, it would be too hard to comprehend.

The care givers are caring but the admin staff are almost impossible to communicate with never seem to be available by phone etc. Our elder complains but has complained about previous places so hard to tell.

The Ruth’s House was very good except that we thought it was too small for our mother. The rooms were beautiful and very nice. They had two-bedroom apartments with a kitchenette and a good-sized bathroom. I think everybody was excellent. I was very pleased with them and their therapy department.

Ruth's House is a beautiful assisted living facility. It has both regular assisted living and also a secured section for patients with memory problems. The staff are very personable and friendly and there tends to be a very low staff turn over rate so residents see the same people daily. Ruth's House provides a wide variety of activities for the residents, everything from bus trips to a gym onsite with qualified instructors. Residents are encouraged to join in group activities. The meals are cooked on site and are kosher. Ruth's House is the middle of a trio of living arrangements offered by the Jewish Nursing Homes. A medical facility is right next door, with Doctors available 24/7 as well as RN's available on every shift. Rooms are single or double and the pricing is reasonable. Access for family and friends is easy and just requires a quick sign in. Comfortable rooms are available for visiting and the grounds are also beautiful.

My grandmother stayed at Ruths house for approx 1.5 years. Ruth's House has a special "Garden Level," an assisted living area specifically for individuals with dementia and Alzheimers. My grandmother was a Garden Level resident from 2008-2009, and during this time was mostly very happy. Facilities were clean and a daily schedule of activities was posted for residents to partake in every day, including music, beading, television, etc. The food was kosher, healthy and delicious. When the primary RN Jackie R left in 2009, however, the facility went downhill. The woman hired to take her place was much less compassionate with my grandmother and other residents. Where Jackie's approach was very personal and hands on, the new RN seemed interested most primarily in weeding out any "less than perfect" residents from the facility, which is highly contrary to the point of a "dementia wing." Most dementia patients suffer from incontinence, impulsive aggression, etc. We removed my grandmother from Ruths House at that time.
