We had a good lunch at Londonderry On The Tred Avon and looked at the apartments and houses, which were all very nice. We talked to people, and everything was excellent. Some residents let us in to look at their apartments. The staff was very good and cooperative. It’s a nice facility for retired people that want to still live independently. The services and amenities were fine.

Londonderry is a nice community. They have a lot of activities, and we think it would work out well for her. We only had contact with two of their people, but everybody seemed very nice and helpful. Their rooms were very nice, and they were handicapped accessible. They had safety features in them in case the residents fall; they were very nice. They were like the perfect size for a single resident.

They have a good reputation. Londonderry is a self-governed organization, and they do a good job. I have a cottage that has two bedrooms and a kitchen. The food is good. They just contracted with a new food supplier so we are waiting to see how it goes. They have everything in terms of activities. They have all types of exercise classes, tai chi, bingo, and a couple of them make wine and beer. I really like mostly the people here. The staff is very good, very friendly, and very accommodating.

The community is ideal for my needs and interests. Situated on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake and backing up to the Tred Avon River. My kayak and I will be very happy there. I like that the board of directors is made up of 5 professionals and 5 residents. The community is beautifully laid out and very well maintained, the residents are delightful and like-minded with varied interests and talents. Through the food program they encourage residents to eat well and socialize. I also like the fact that it's not run/owned by some large corporation..
