"I have a grandmother that is a resident and have visited Hempstead Manor on many occasions. The staff is very friendly and genuinely cares about it's residents. They go above and beyond the call of duty to see that all are taken care of and given the utmost loving care.Every room is outfitted with a television and restrooms that are kept clean and serviced more than frequently. Residents are also invited to the crafts room where they can play various games, participate in exercise, work on various crafts and art projects, or just chat and socialize.The only negative thing I could say about this facility is the dim lighting and color scheme can sometimes be a bit of a downer. The lighting gives it a dim, yellow look that isn't easy on the eyes. Still, this is an exceptional facility and one that should be recognized for it's hard work and accomplishments. "

"The staff was great, always responsive and courteous and focusing on my great grandmothers needs. They offered great food and had specialists on site. With a fun event planned nightly for the residents, and even the occasional field trip, the made sure everyone received the proper care they deserve and need. They only things I saw that i thought need improvemnet was the building itself. The structure in which the retirement home is in was over 100 years old and need to be updated or remodeled pretty bad. Not saying the equipment wasn't up to date because it was just the actual building itself. Also there was as light smell that loomed through the halls that did leave you wishing you could cover your nose. But other than that there are no other complaints with them. South Shore Rehab providing great service and attending to my needs but mroe importantly my great grandmothers. "

"At Hill View, they are great. They are friendly, super, and much cheaper. It is built around a lake, so the residents have an even better view. They could look out over the lake and see the ducks, the chickens, and the trees. I really like this community. At Hill View, they have a friendly staff and good food. Bill's mother is very happy there. Regarding their apartments, you got new carpets and paintings, so that makes it a little bit nicer. They have tons of activities. They have a little store there which the residents manned. The bus takes them to different places during different days. They will have a picnic outside rather than eating inside, so they're always doing something for the residents to make it fun. "

"My mother is in Heritage Square New Boston. The staff is very friendly, and they're all good to her. The food is decent, not the greatest, but it's decent. She has a nice room and everything, but she just feels alone all the time."

"I lived in Rosewood Manor Senior Living for two years. It's through HUD, and they help you with the payment because I live strictly on my Social Security. It's hard to rate it because it was just like a regular apartment. It wasn't anything fancy, and they didn't have a lot of things going on for the older people or anything there. It was fine. I enjoyed living there. The people were nice. It was more like living in your place because you could go in and out. It wasn't enclosed with just one door going in and out. There were eight apartments in different sections. They had people with wheelchairs and amputations and things like that, and some people needed more care. However, I'm blessed I didn't need that kind of care; I just needed to have my rent controlled because I wasn't able to afford it, otherwise. So I liked it. I was happy there. There wasn't any staff. There was just the manager and the handyman. They worked very hard. They would come in and repaint it and do whatever repairs between rentals. However, it was like owning my own home. I did all the cleaning and that sort of thing. If there was anything wrong, I would report it to the manager, and then she scheduled the repairman to come over and fix it."

"The experience with this assisted living provider was a good one. The facility was clean and was nice smelling compared to most. The staff members were very polite and really took care of my grandfather when he lived there for a short period of time. He never had complaints of being there or dealing with the staff. He only had his usual complaints of being at any facility about food, but that is only because it is healthy food and not junk food. The area in which he got to move around was nice and quite big compared to many other places. It seemed like a really well prepared facility and seemed as they were ready if anything, such as disaster like fire or electric going out, were to happen. It really seemed to comfort our family that this facility provided for our grandfather the way that they did. It put our minds as well as his to ease. The staff really took a liking to him and he seemed to enjoy himself for the time he was there. "

"I was very impressed with this facility. It was a friendly environment and the staff there was very kind and helpful to the residents. Chapel House is kept neat and clean and has a very pleasant atmosphere. I love that this facility is completely maintenance free for residents. It makes for an enjoyable and care-free way of life for those who live there. Chapel House provides just the right amount of assistance depending upon the needs of the resident. If residents need more in depth care and help with basic living skills the staff is willing to provide that care, If only minimal assistance is needed that is also available. I was also very impressed with the various activities that are there for the residents to take part in. Chapel House is a wonderful place for those who are not able to fully care for themselves and live on there own. This facility helps give those who might not otherwise have a happy life the ability to be enjoy their lives to the fullest. "

"My mom has moved into Kenton Pointe. She loves it. The people are very nice. The place is very easy to walk around. It's very secure. The food is very good. There are lots of selections. It's restaurant-style serving. They also play different games and exercises. There are a lot of mental games."

"My aunt was transferred into Edgewood Manor after her schizophrenia was too much for the family to handle. Upon my many visitations to see her I encountered several things at the nursing home which made me feel empathy for my aunt. Several things that I can recall off hand consists of: cold/hot temperatures, room temperature (70 degrees) seemed to be nonexistent, shortage of nurses, dirty rooms and sheets, little to no planned activity for the elderly to enjoy, and little to no passion from the caregivers and faculty were evident. My aunt always complained of the way they treated her. With her condition, it is hard to believe every last detail she grasped upon, but I know that there was truth in some of the things she said. The elderly looked miserable, which I am sure, has been brought on by more than just the nursing home itself, but I believe that a nursing home should act as a second home for those who have no one else to take care of them. Edgewood Manor seriously felt like an abandoned hospital. It was cold and damp during the winters, as though it hadn't been insulated properly. During the summer it was sweltering hot, and most of the patients were incapable of shedding their clothes in order to perspire. There is one dining area, which also consists of two old 24 or 32inch screens that I could barely see or hear, even though all of my senses are still in tact. I can only imagine how miserable those elderly people must be in there. They've already lost and or been abandoned by their families, only to be trapped in a facility that is populated by a money hungry staff. That place needs a serious dose of passion for our elderly citizens. "

"My experience with this assisted living provider was negative. The facility seemed to always be under-staffed. It was very smelly and somewhat dirty. Many times the residents would be pressing their call lights (help button) for several minutes before a nurse would get around to checking on that person. My grandpa developed bed sores during his stay at this facility. "

"The rooms here are clean and the food is good. The staff is professional and friendly. The staff to me, will go out of their way to make sure your loved one is taken care of. I take care of my brother who has been here twice for care, and I am happy with all they have provided. He has been included in so many activities and really enjoyed himself."
