"At Oak Park Place, everybody's friendly. The halls are very light, they have plenty of light on them. They have the person's name on the outside of the door, which I think is a good idea. If you're looking for a walk-in shower, they have them, and I was just very impressed with the place. They serve the meals in the dining room, they have snacks, and coffee, and water available."

"Noel Manor was a new place. The apartment and food were included in the price, which was comparable to the other places. We probably will be living there. The food was very good. They had a theater and all kinds of activities posted for people to do. They had laundry facilities, which you can use yourself if you are able, but they can do it for you. The food looked varied, tasty, and plentiful."

"Twining Valley Retirement Community is a good place. I was impressed. The staff member during the tour was very good. The accommodations were very nice. There is no dining room because everything's independent, and we have a kitchen in our room. There are activities every day, there are workout rooms, there's a wooded area for us to walk through, and the internet is free. The cost is very reasonable. The facility is very pleasant. It's close to shopping, groceries, and the senior center. The staff is very friendly and very informative. It's relatively new and well kept. It has an elevator and heated parking."

"The thing that I liked about Oak Ridge at University Park was where the apartment was located. It was a corner unit. There were lots of windows. I like the area because I like to walk, so there's a nice area for that. The apartment itself was kind of tough because it had a stack of a washer and dryer, and it was going to be a problem to get dryer open because it was sitting on top of the washer. That would not have worked for me. I would also have had to pay for a lot of things to change, like upgrading the window coverings, because I didn't like what they looked like. Overall, it was very nice, just that there were things that were not acceptable to me. The staff I met was very personable. It was a nice building. The apartment itself was clean. The staff was very helpful and very nice."

"This facility is known in our city for its quality look, furnishings, decor and women's groups assisting it. There is a shortage across the board of C. nA and assistant staff in our area so all facilities compete. But Attic Angels has the feature of moving up or down--to more independent apartment or to more dependent nursing home and all part of the same facility. The place looks, smells and feels good. The food is a cut above the usual. There is transportation to shops all over town as well as a library, chapel and store in the facility. Usually waiting lists but check it out for yourself. "

"One of the things my parents liked about Kettle Park Senior Living was the age of the building. The decor felt nice, clean, and homey. It looked professional, and yet welcoming and warm. They also liked the number of units and residents, as well as the opportunities available to them on the campus. Chris was wonderful. He was one of the directors there, and he gave us a tour. He was very personable, very warm, and answered a lot of questions. He was friendly and kind. He gave us a lot of information and he did a really nice job. They actually had an entertainer playing a guitar as we walked in, and it was off in part of the dining area into the sitting room. The thing that was very impressive was that the entire room was filled with residents. We loved the fact that they were engaged, they were participating, and they were interested. They also had a craft activity room, a workout room, a TV room, a salon, and a social room. Another room upstairs was a huge kitchen where you could have families come in and reserve it to do something special. The dining room was very nice. They had a kitchen there. They had a bar area there. The meal plan was very appealing. You can have no meals and just cook independently in your apartment, or you can come down for one meal, two meals, or three meals a day."

"My sister is in Frostwoods Senior Apartments. We just got her moved in there last week. She's in the second one, right down Frost Woods. It's affordable for her. It was like $1,050. This is actually the only one we really liked. The rest of them were not suitable for her. She used to live in this community as a child, so this is good for her. It's nice and caring, which is actually for elderly adults living in that whole area in Frost Woods. I haven't met many of the staff yet. They have lunches and they play bingo. They have a lot of things going on in the downstairs party room. She got a washroom. She got a place to get her hair done, two doors down from her. It's a nice place. They have dining, but they don't serve it to you. You can order it and eat down there. She's been eating in her own apartment right now until she gets to know more people. She's been making her own food. It's a brand new building. It's about two years old, so it's very nice. It's a one-bedroom, and it fits her needs, so for the money, it's good."

"Heritage Monona is of good location near hospitals. We've been there a couple of times and we were treated very well. The cleanliness, the services that are available, the employees and the entire picture is a good one. "

"My sister likes Meadow Grove Apartments. They have a lot of activities there. Everything that she needs, they have it. It is a little pricey, but she likes it. I'm very happy, and I like the place, too. You have your own washer and dryer in the unit. There is also a laundry on the second floor. They have a community area where everybody congregates. They have something to do every day of the week. They have like coffee or tea in the morning. She just missed the bowling activity. And then they have a small exercise room and a small library. It's nice. My sister is on the second floor, which is what she wanted. She has a bedroom and a patio off her living area. It's nice. I've been there several times, and the place is very clean. All their activities that they're having for the day and for the week are on their bulletin board. The manager of the place is very nice and knowledgeable."

"Westshire Village at the Lake has a very nice, peaceful, close to country setting. It feels very safe, very warm, and welcoming. It has a nature trail by it and is easily accessible to everything else that one would need, such as any kind of shopping. I just like the community. I've met some of the people there, they seem to be more vibrant. It just meets my needs much better. The staff were very helpful, and very open if you have any questions. It was just very comfortable. They do not have a food program, that's OK with me. They have a very nice kitchen, and I still enjoy cooking, or I'll go out to eat."

"We are living in The Arbors, and the food is not up to my standards. It is very nice, but the problem is that if one of us needs assisted living, we have to leave the independent living apartment and go to an assisted living apartment. People are nice, and it is well-maintained. The apartments are nice, and they have really nice storage; they have extra storage rooms. "
