"I went to Arabella of Longview. It was a nice place. Everything that I saw when we took our tour was wonderful. It was well-maintained. The rooms were nice, and we were interested in the 2-bedroom apartment. It was clean. The staff that I talked to were nice and helpful. The food was excellent. There are a lot of activities there. They had a theater, arts, cards, and dominoes."

"lf I could give Parkview ten gold stars I would, five gold stars does not seem like enough. I want to thank you and your amazing staff for what you all do for my sister. From the women at the front desk who always greet me with a smile, who are always there to help in any way--to the caregivers who offer so much more to my sister than just "the basics," to the staff who work in the kitchen and dining room, to Henry who transports her safely in the van, to Andrea who is the very best activities director one could hope to find, to the maintenance staff who work hard to keep Parkview looking its best.....l sincerely thank everyone who makes my sister's life the best it can be, even under sometimes very challenging circumstances. You all have been there to assure that she has the very best care you have to offer. My sister has lived at Parkview since October 2017, first in independent living, then transferring to assisted living in December of 2019. Through the pandemic, several health issues, hospital stays, rehabilitation therapies, and moves into different apartments, the Parkview staff have been there to help in so many ways. The care she receives at Parkview is not just a blessing to my sister, but to our whole family. To know she is cared for not just physically, but emotionally as well, means the world to all of us. The activities and social engagement that Andrea provides is one of the most important things about Parkview. From eating out, organizing games and craft projects, or going to events in the community, I can rarely find my sister in her room during the day-she is always busy with some activity or trip that Andrea has planned!! Positive social interaction has been the key to her happiness. I must not forget the holiday dinners and celebrations that are held every year that include the families of the residents. I know how much work must go into planning those events, and we are grateful for all of the hard work everyone puts in to make those happen. The food is always delicious! I also want to thank her caregivers so much. When I come to visit, it is heartwarming for me to see the effort they take in making sure my sister is given the very best care possible. From the care director, the med techs, to the caregivers on each shift, I say thank you so much. I love to watch the positive interactions, the laughs, and the care that each one seems to provide. What is more important than to know the person you love so much is cared for by others?"

"I went to look at Arabella of Longview. I like the environment, the surroundings, the cleanliness, and the upkeep of the facility. The apartments seem to be very sufficient for my mom. They have a recreational area, an on-site pharmacy, an eating area or dining hall, a common area, and a courtyard area."

"My husband has moved into Arabella of Kilgore Senior Living. It's three miles from my house. It's a beautiful facility. He has a nice room. The people there are very, very nice and very helpful. The food is okay. It's not the way I cook, but it's good. They have several programs during the day. When I go there to visit him, a lot of people are engaged in these programs, like games or doing things out in the dining room. My husband doesn't participate. He likes to stay by himself, though. It's kind of expensive, but it's a good place."

"I liked Buckner Westminster Place, but it's too expensive for me. It offered everything that I wanted. It accepted pets, it had covered parking for my car and it had all the meals and light housekeeping. I liked the lady during the tour. She was nice. The receptionist was nice too. There was a group of ladies having bible study. The main thing that impressed me was the closet space. The ones I've looked at had more closet space than the rest of them, and they had laminate floors instead of carpeting. With my two dogs, I don't want carpeting."

"Legends of Lindale only has independent living and no other levels of care. They have separate or stand-alone cottages, and it's like going down a little street in a small community. They are two-bedroom cottages with attached garages. They support the community to come up with different activities, so the residents can decide what they want to do. They have a walking group and there's a calendar that they put out. They had a big rec hall where the residents come in and it's like a neighborhood party. They have a community building or a clubhouse where you can go and do your potlucks or whatever you want to do. They also have transportation. When we just walked through the place, the residents said that when they propose something the community provides supplies or allocates money toward it. So everything is planned by the residents themselves. If they want to take a trip and enough people have signed up, they pool the money and take over, ordering a bus and planning all of it."
