"An elderly relative stayed at Hampton House while I was traveling out of the country in 2018. I took him to visit initially and we both were impressed with the administrative staff and the caretakers. After he moved in they took extra care to make him feel at home. He was happy with the food served and the care given. Unfortunately he passed away a month later. Some of the staff even attended this funeral. It’s nothing fancy but if you like a casual, comfortable atmosphere where you’re treated like family, this is the place."

"I was impressed with The Overlook at Toccoa. They had an opening, but it was more than what Mom needed because it was a living room, a bedroom, and a kitchen, which Mom did not expect to find. But I like it. It was neat and clean. The staff was super sweet. And I liked the fact that it was on the side of the river there, and you can go out on the deck and sit there and watch the water. It was nice, and I was impressed with it. I really like the cleanliness of The Overlook at Toccoa, and the fact everyone can eat together in the dining room. Everything was just super clean. There were no odors. No smell. The staff was nice. She listened to my concerns. We talked about Mom, what condition she was in, and what kind of care she would need. She answered any questions or concerns that I had, so I was okay with her. She took her time with me."

"My dad has been at The Pines for about a month now. The decision to place him somewhere was gut wrenching for our family but the staff here have gone above and beyond to help us make this transition as painlessly as possible. Julie was in constant contact with pictures, video chats and phone calls to let us know how dad was doing as well as making sure me and my mom were ok. I am so grateful that we found this place and would recommend it to anyone."

"Avery Place is the only facility that would keep my husband’s parents together, and my husband’s mother has Alzheimer’s. What made us impressed was that it’s small and it’s closer to our home; it’s an assisted living place with a keypad lock door. The service is above and beyond, and it’s wonderful. It’s a wonderful environment, and for all the patients that they have there, it’s a friendly, homey environment. The size is an asset. They participate in church on Sunday afternoons, she wanted him to be on his side, and this facility is where she can be out of his sight, and they know everybody is watching her like a hawk. She interacts with the other residents there, and it’s good for the state of mind that she is in. We’re really very blessed to have found it. "

"I went to The Residences at Park Place. I met the executive manager Kyle, talked with him and other people. Everyone there was great. I saw their studio, I went into the memory care area, and I met a lot of people there. Everyone was very friendly, very nice, and it was very clean, neat, and beautiful. It was a newer facility, and they have all kinds of art things and get togethers."

"We toured Highlands Senior Living Jefferson. It's close by wherever we live. It's a homey atmosphere. The residents seemed happy there. They were serving dinner when we were there, and everything was very organized and clean. The rooms were also very clean. The staff was very attentive. I was listening to the ladies serving the meals, and they were very polite and very nice. They had a large dining area. They have lots of activities planned. We looked at the calendar and the activities room. They have a bus that goes out on Tuesdays and Thursdays and they always have a planned place to go."

"I toured here. It was a very positive experience. The lady that I met was very helpful. The establishment was very clean. It was outstanding. The rooms were private ones. They were having a shopping tour, and they were going to go see Christmas lights the week that we came. The staff was telling me about the events that were having. There was an actual bingo game going on when we got there. They had a lot of different activities that they were planning for the residents, and that was just not for the Christmas season. She gave me like a calendar to look and see everything. They have coffee hour. They showed me the menu of what they were going to offer. They were saying that if it was something that the resident didn't want, they can choose from different things."

"My aunt was in respite care for a week, and I was satisfied with them. My experience was good. They met my needs, were really friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make sure everything was good. Its rooms are better than a motel's. Her room was really nice and in an L-shape, and her bed was off on one side in the living room and she had a closet, a bathroom, and a TV. I was pleased. What I liked most about them was they came out to us to evaluate my aunt instead of me having to take her there. "

"We had a visit at The Gables at Cobb Village and we talked with the director there. They showed us around and they were very friendly. The whole building is nice and bright; lots of extra light coming in to the rooms. They have a nice big dining room. One of the ladies there called us over and told us that she enjoyed and loves living there. "

"I moved my mother to The Vernada and I find it as A-plus. They don't advertise, but I have to wait from a long waiting list to get my mom in there. It is a very small, private facility and only has a dozen members who live there. It is not like a hospital setting and it is a step above the assisted living. The rooms are much larger than normal. They have gourmet food. They have a program director who plans the activities. "

"Steer clear of Hartwell. I have documented medication errors and medical conditions that went untreated brought to the attention of Administrator, Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing. When these issues were supposedly investigated, things were covered up or left off the report in their favor. The floor nurses are programmed to be robots just to pass meds. and follow doctors orders. Management including shift nursing supervisors didn’t even know what was going on. Their was no accountability, staff could pretty much do what they wanted and get away with it. On several occasions, my loved one wanted to go to bed early because of not feeling well and was told they couldn’t until after supper! The only positive thing I could say is there were a few caring CNA’s who worked there but no longer are that did a great job."

"My mother is currently at Brookside Commerce. They are very attentive to her, very patient, and understanding. They communicate well. They provide a lot to keep them occupied. They are inviting and clean, which is very important. They do a good job of doing the laundry, which I appreciate very much. They make her bed every day for her. When she needs assistance, they assist her. They are very quick to respond if she has to push her button. They communicate well with me. They keep me posted on everything that transpires with her. She gets her medication like she's supposed to get. They keep good records. If she gets in one of her moods and decides not to take her medication, they communicate that to me as well. They are very kind. They do a good job with their menu. It has variety. They offer some options if you don't like what's available. You can get a salad. They post it for the week, and they post it for the day on the table. There is plenty of communication about what the meals are. Every time I saw the food and been there when she was eating, it looked appetizing. They did win Best Jackson Senior living for two years in a row from the Jackson Herald, so I think that's pretty good."

"I stayed at Bountiful Hills Senior Living for two-and-a-half years. It was good. I thought I was going to have to stay there, but I enjoyed the time I was there. Everything was fine. The staff was very good and confident in what they did and always answered my needs. The food was very good. We had activities during the day making something. I had a little box and put up broken pieces of mirror in it. We didn't go out because it was during the pandemic. We would watch TV and have maybe a milkshake in the afternoon or Coke floats or something like that. We would go outside on July 4th or something to have a cookout."

"My mom’s room in Spring Valley is really small. There’s usually 2 people to a room, but they only have one chair for visitors. They have their wheelchairs and all kinds of things cluttered inside the room which makes it even smaller. When two people go to visit, one person has to stand up because there’s not enough room. The portions are very small. All their meat is grounded, and it usually comes out pretty cold. They have a TV room, but aside from that, there aren’t any other activities. There are 2 nurses on each shift, and the rest are aides. Honestly, I have heard vulgar language, and they try to pass their duties off to each other and argue about whose duty it is to do what there."

"My mother-in-law will be moving into Magnolia Estates of Elberton. It was very neat, clean, and very well decorated. They were having a Halloween party when we toured it, and we saw people that we knew from town. It was just a very nice visit. It was an older home that's been renovated, so it had a very nice atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and very sweet."

"I'm currently at Wilkinson Care Center. This is a very nice facility. If you want to eat in your room, they'll bring your meals to you. If not, you can go to the dining room. This is a very nice facility because of the people that work here, they're so concerned with everything about you. They check on you and they make sure if you need assistance that you get assistance. It is just a nice facility. My room is like an efficiency apartment. I have a small kitchen. I have a microwave and a sink in it, and I have a small refrigerator. In the bigger room is my furniture that I brought with me. I have a little dining room table and two chairs. I have two chest drawers. When my husband was in this room with me, we had a queen-sized bed, but since he's not here, I've gone to a twin bed. I make quilts and I have a little place where I can sew now so that I could bring my hobby with me. They have some rooms where you can have an extra bedroom. So if your grandchildren would come, they could spend the night with you. They have two-bedroom apartments. We had Silver Sneakers. We had one day where we did exercise, and even people in wheelchairs would come and exercise their arms and everything. We always have puzzles in a little room down there. It's kind of like a little sitting room, but it's got plenty of tables. We always have puzzles where anybody who likes to do puzzles can come and work on them. We have a little gym with some exercise equipment, and then we have the larger dining hall. Breakfast is at 7:00, lunch is at 11:00 and dinner is at 4:00. That's a little early for me for every one of those. Their workers worked from 7:00 to 7:00, so I know that's why they put that on there so they could get through with the dinner things before it was time for them to go home. But I'm very happy here. The staff are very good. They have an activity director. They raised the price about three months ago for the first time in four years, so that sounds very good to me. According to other places I checked, this is about the cheapest price you can get for what you get out of it."

"My grandmother has lived in Heritage Healthcare of Toccoa for 3 years. She moved there when she had a hip replacement and could no longer care for herself without a risk of falling. I have been visiting her regularly on Mondays and Thursdays since she was moved there. She is taken care of very well and I have no complaints regarding her care. The facility provides for regular activities for the residents including bingo and a book club. She initially had trouble adjusting to living in a long term care facility. Being in a new setting and meeting new people was initially difficult for her; however, her roommate quickly became good friends with her and has helped her to cope with the life change. Her nurses and CNAs treat her well and neither she nor myself have had any complaints with the way that they care for her. It was a difficult decision to make initially but with our families busy schedule we had to make the choice, and I believe that we made the right one. She has had no falls or incidence occur during her stay with the facility. "
