I found a place for my husband. He is in memory care at Discovery Commons Hobe Sound. He is safe and happy. It's basically across the street from me, so it's very easy to get over there and visit him. That was the main thing. Plus, it was nice. I go there every day. I think that the people who work there are angels. They are very caring and pleasant. They usually have smiles on their faces. I can't say enough about them. My husband's room is not huge, but it's got a bed, a television, and a chair. The only thing is that I had to get all the furniture for it, but that's okay. He is comfortable there. He has got everything he needs. There is a big bathroom and a walk-in shower, too. It's very nice. The food is good. My husband is not complaining at all. He likes it. The common dining area is beautiful, but he can't eat there unless I take him over there. They have their own dining room. It's the same food, but in memory care, the food is sent up to them. The dining room is clean. Anybody can come and have dinner with them for Christmas, and I did that. It was very good. The staff members are helpful and pleasant. They have activities going on all day. At first, my husband didn't want to do it, but now he can't wait to see what's going on this day and the next day. So, activities are very good. He would do some painting, and they would do a lot of mind games to stimulate their memories, and that's important. There are a lot of hands-on things, too. It's expensive, but it's worth it.

We moved into here. I'm in assisted living with my husband. It's a very homey, welcoming place. Our apartment is fantastic. I have a corner unit with extra windows, and I have a beautiful view. They're the most outstanding staff. The people are wonderful and helpful. It's a pleasure to be here. It was quite a move to move to assisted living, but I cannot complain. It's lovely, people take care of you, and I highly recommend it. Because we have been so busy with moving in, I haven't participated in a lot of activities. We have a lot of bingo, we have a lot of entertainment, and they have happy hour at 4:00 a couple of days a week. They play Rummikub, there's a lot to do if you want to do it. With regards to food, so far, so good. I do miss cooking a little because I'm Italian, and I love to cook, but it's okay. The food is excellent. The facility is beautiful. I can't give them enough accolades. They've been so helpful to us, so I'm very pleased. They have allowed my husband to go a couple of times when I have to go out, which is wonderful because it gives me little time to have to myself too. They take care of him, and it's been wonderful. I've been here for three weeks, and I have no negative things.
