"We toured Alva Senior Living. I went and looked at all the rooms and what they have. We met with the director of the senior living section. We just walked through the whole thing, and she told us all about it, and we asked questions, and she answered all of them. The rooms were small, but they're very nice. They furnish everything except a mattress. So you don't have to bring your own furniture. They have rooms with big bathrooms and rooms with small bathrooms. We toured the dining area. They only have five people right now, and they're only gonna have a total of 16 when they're full. It's a very small unit. It was as clean as it could be. They have a big common room on the front of the building, and at one end is the dining room, which has a big long table with chairs, and it was decorated with fresh roses. It was very pretty. I didn't actually go into the kitchen, but I talked to the cook who was standing at the door, and she said they cook everything there. They don't buy any premade stuff. They have an area where, if somebody wants something during the day, like a snack or something to drink, or if they want something to eat, they can go and request it, and they can get it during the day if they want that. The staff was really good, answered our questions, and were very friendly. They're new, so they're just getting started. It was very nice."

"The rooms are standard, basic. The staff was kind, friendly, the nurses knowledgeable. My mom stayed there for a bit, she has since passed on. The one nurse I remember, I believe her name was "Inga", she had a special wicked sense of humor, she and my mom would laugh about the craziest things. My mom would say, "She gets me" Mom also being a nurse in her profession, she really took to Inge. She an a few staff members made my mom feel comfortable, and safe. I would like all the residents there to feel this type of happiness. Thank you Inga, For always putting a smile on my moms face."

"The Anthurium was a nice place. It's a smaller home of about 10 people. The staff was well-equipped and very knowledgeable, and they pay more attention to detail because it's a smaller home. The place is more personable, and they share a room -- 2 to a room -- and each person had their own space, things, and recliner. The residents are very happy, and we really liked it. "

"My aunt will move into Palm Terrace of Clewiston tomorrow. The staff was very energetic, very helpful. We have not tasted the food, but it's all cooked in-house. It's very clean."

"My mom was at Lehigh Acres Health & Rehabilitation Center for nine years, and it was a clean and good place. They also got good food, entertainment, and special activities. She had a shared room, but the rooms were clean. While she was there, they also kept it up to date. They had activities that started right after lunch, and then they would send them for their nap and medications would be given on a regular basis. The people were friendly. They knew me and I knew them. I was using a walker, but they would give me one of their wheelchairs to move around in because I couldn't walk that far to my mother's room. They also offer a beauty salon. She had her hair done, and her nails done every two weeks. They had family get togethers, and they had an outdoor gazebo with a TV where we could visit. We had her birthday a couple of times there, and then once when we had newborn kids. It was easy to visit for the grandchildren too. It was such a good place that my sister visited for a couple months, and she was going like almost every day to see her."
