"My friend chose Seagrass Village of Fleming Island, because it felt like an apartment to her. It didn't feel like a nursing home situation. She wanted a more independent living place and she got that feeling there. She got a beautiful one-bedroom, and it's very roomy. There's a lot of space and a lot of storage. She's got a little balcony and outdoor space. There are a lot of activities. We had lunch there and the food was delicious. It's always clean and she's very happy there."

"I went to Palagio Senior Living and paid a reservation fee. We haven't met any of the residents because they're mostly in quarantine. The activities are limited, so we didn't see a lot of residents, but the staff is excellent, they're all very helpful, and you ask them a question, it will be answered right then. It's a super clean place; it's spotless. Even in the hallways, there's no dust along the borders. It's immaculate. It's a new place, but it is very nice and upscale. We liked it immediately, the first impression when we walked in. It looked very nice. They described all activities. We had a sit down with a salesperson. They described them, and we toured all the activity bases, the restaurants, and their store. They have a beauty salon and a barbershop, all that kind of stuff. It's very, very all-inclusive. This is a huge place. It's a very large place and they have green spaces. It's well taken care of and well planned. Everything is just great. Everything is just well cared for in that facility. Although they showed us the menu, we didn't have an opportunity to taste the quality of the food because they're in lockdown."

"I placed my mother in Brookdale, and so far, they've been great. She's been there a week, and I haven't any problems. It is good, clean, and well-maintained. It is easy to get to. She plays Bingo and makes hats."

"My wife was there for 3 weeks after a hip replacement . The rehab team was very good with her and her cna and nurses , were always checking on her. Even the admission director there was so hopeful and made me very comfortable during this time . Thanks guys for everything "

"I've chosen Park of the Palms. There is warmth about the entire place. It does not look like a retirement place, and it does not look like an assisted living. In fact, I stayed three nights. They paid for one, and the other two I paid for. The residents made me feel welcome. I went into dinner, and I was a bit late on Saturday night. When I got there, all the tables were taken, so I sat by myself at the table, which was fine. Across from me, there were four ladies sitting on one table and one looked at me and smiled, and that was nice. She smiled at me; she wanted me to feel welcome, and it was great. Also, they have all the amenities, plus it goes from assisted living all the way to hospice care. Then there is a church there, and they have services on Sunday. I attended the Sunday church service, and even then, I felt welcomed. The room I stayed in was like a huge luxury hotel room. The unit that I toured was a two-bedroom-two-bath -- it was a duplex -- but it shared laundry with one other unit. Then, I saw a two-bedroom-two-bath with a washer and dryer in the unit, and that was the one in the quadruplexes. The place was immaculate, and I was very impressed. The dining room overlooked Brooklyn Lake. It was just beautiful. There were lots of trees. The whole place is beautiful. There was a library and a swimming pool. You can go on tours wherever you want to go. Plus medical, there are doctors and nearby hospitals. They can come in, or you can call if there is an emergency. "

"We just returned from visiting PRC for 3 days/nights free. We met with Marketting and were given a good tour and much info about the 200 acre community. There are no gates, fences, or walls and is very safe and friendly. They are trying to keep the ambience of JCPenney who started it in 1926. We have friends living there and they love it! They are very active and have lots of volunteer opportunities there among the other residents. Everyone living there is very happy and friendly, and the best part is probably that residents make up 1/3 of the board, so they help make the decisions. Being a 501c3 facility also means a partial tax write-off for one's financial commitment to it. We were very impressed with the whole visit. "

"Penney Retirement Community was excellent. The staff took me on a tour of the whole place. They have different kinds of one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, three-bedrooms, and four-bedrooms. They have little cottages, they have a hospital environment, and they have 24-hour nurses. It's a wonderful place, and they were just finishing up the last building that they were building. The only thing they had available was a one-bedroom with a living room and a kitchen, and I just need more space than that. They have woodworking shops, they have glass-making, like the glass you can see in churches, and they have a flower shop. They have their own post office and their own grocery store. They have just pretty much anything anybody would want, and it's in a neighborhood-oriented program. Now they have two different places that are kind of like hotels. They serve meals in the dining room and everything. People can go down and go have their meal in the dining room if they don't want to eat in the room. It's very nice. They have exercise and all different kinds of things that they offer. The staff members were really nice, but I only saw two women in the office."

"My husband stayed at Middleburg Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. It was OK, and I can't say anything bad about it. It's a clean place and there's no odors. They provide good care and have good food. They have a food serving area right in the middle of the facility. You could smell the food all over. The kitchen was there, too. They also had a nice activity room. I think that was a new facility, too, and everything was in good shape and very modern. The staff was fine. He was there for physical therapy, but he was getting sick from high calcium in his body, so his rehab didn't have any effect on him while he was there. He just couldn't do it because he was too weak and too sick. When they found out the level of his calcium, they immediately took him to the ER."

"In general the place seemed to be properly functioning and well maintained. The staff seemed proficient but also some what numb to the patients I assume because of the detachment that sometimes occurs working in a place with high emotions like that for long periods of time. Given the mental state of the patients living there it is hard to tell how they are really feeling or if they are happy with their arrangements or not, they did not seem to be in any type of discomfort based on the environment they lived in. The facilities were sanitary and accommodating for patients with physical disabilities. My only complaint is what I experienced from some employees. They would use scheduled patient outings for their own benefit, to get their nails done, pay bills, pick up their children, go shopping, or visit a friends house instead of taking patients to promised activities. I'm not sure if they felt this was okay because the patients were some what unaware of their surroundings to begin with or they just took advantage of the paid time away from work to do what they needed done. "

"The most wonderful place to place a loved one. We moved from out of state and I contacted them months prior to relocating here. They were so wonderful and genuine during my mothers admission process and are now part of our extened family. My mother really loves the care and attention she recieves from the staff. "We went to see the Pine Crest Manor assisted living facility while in the region looking for a place for my friend's mother to live. The outside grounds were nicely manicured, where they host private parties and other social gatherings. They have many stimulating events and encourage residents to participate as much as possible. The facility is close to the metro area so that residents may enjoy all of the local events, art, culture, music, shopping and fine and casual dining offered. The food choices looked nutritious and delicious, as well as the regular snacks - offered continually. The dining areas have many options. From more intimate to communal dining, resident can choose whatever they like - in addition to hosting guests in the private dining rooms. The living suites were all a nice size, beautifully decorated and did not seem cramped. Each unit had individually controlled temperatures. The exercise center includes daily yoga and aerobics exercise classes and equipment available. Residents can also safely navigate the lovely garden pathways and courtyards. The residents here looked very content in their living environment and were well cared for by competent and compassionate staff. "

"I visited Silver Treasures at Fleming Island. It was a beautiful place, but it was private pay, and they didn't take insurance. The staff member who gave the tour was very nice and informative. It's a new place, and the inside is beautiful. The furnishings were nice, and the decorations were beautiful. It looked like a secure place. The dining area was beautiful, and the activities area was very nice. There's a pond with a porch where you can sit and watch. It's backed up to the woods, and she said many residents enjoy sitting out there watching the ducks and everything."

"My Mom is a resident at Quality Care of Florida, and she has been given excellent care since moving there. The ALF staff provides good care, is friendly and caring. The facility is under new management (8/21) and it has been remodeled and updated. If you want personal care for your lived one in a small setting, I highly recommend Quality Care of Florida. "
