"My mom is in Grand Victorian of Rockford. The facility is beautiful, very nice, and very clean. We liked it immediately when we walked in. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. The food is very good. They have a pizza party, bingo, and a patio. My mom's room is very spacious with high ceilings and a beautiful view. We are really happy that we chose this place. My mom loves it."

"My sister is all settled in at Hearthstone by Fairhaven and it seems to be working out OK. It's about a 30-minute trip from where I'm living. We have friends that have been living there for 17 years, so we knew it had a very good reputation. She is now in their memory care, which seems to be serving her quite well. She has had some outbursts and combativeness, and they've been very tolerant in working with it. It's a nice atmosphere. She complains that they're all mean, but that comes with the territory. I haven't really seen anything happen that would want me to have her leave there. They don't do many activities with the people, and that's my only complaint. She might be happier if she had more stimulation. It's overall a very nice place. My sister has a tendency to fall, and they seem to be really careful in keeping an eye on her when she's walking. Overall, we're satisfied with everything. She has access to the building that has the apartments and the assisted living. She likes the food, and if she wants to go and eat in their dining room, she can do that without any problem. She can go any place in the main building for anything. For what she gets, it's more economical than other places. Initially when we walked through Fairhaven into the main part of the building where she was for a while, there were people in there down by the dining room, in their lounge area, and in the smaller lounges. Each floor has its own lounges. Every week, they have tea and things going on in the afternoon down in the main lodge, so that you could get to meet other people."

"The staff was extremely helpful and kind. The facilities were very clean and well cared for. There was spirited decor and activities going on everyday. Amenities seemed to be very adequate including exercising rooms, communal rooms for tv and conversation, planned activities, and more. The grounds are well kept, especially nice in the spring. Religious services are held in a chapel on site, making things very accessible for residents. My great grandparents seemed to be content with their living arrangements here. They were very well looked after and in the case where something did arise, health wise, the local hospital is attached to the facility itself. It seems like a more dignified place to be when assisted living is necessary. "

"I visited Fairhaven. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. They had a washer and dryer in each place. Each one had their own home, and you could make your own food. We liked the independence and that they had separate housing. "

"We have moved into Peterson Meadows. It's very nice and beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous. You can take walks there. We have all of the services and our own condo with our kitchen so we do most of our own cooking. However, in the times that we have eaten in the dining room, the food has been very good. There are all different kinds of activities and different things to do. It is a life in itself. They have exercise program and outings."
