"I toured The Atrium of Belleville. The place itself was fine, but when I went in there I didn't expect to see people walking all over the place with walkers, and it just felt like I was in a nursing home. That was the main thing. Plus, they just had a small elevator for 75 residents. They were standing in line trying to get into the elevator. Their rooms were very nice. The man that took us around was very knowledgeable and very nice."

"My in-laws moved into St. Paul's Senior Community. We chose it because we could transition them to assisted living and possibly the nursing home. However, we found out that if they do need to transition to a nursing home, there's no bed available, so that's a disappointment. It's also run by a very large company, and they lost a very good director of patient care. Since she's been gone, it's not as good as it was before. My in-law's apartment is very nice. It has a lot of the things that they need. It's a nice little apartment. The facility is clean. The food is good. There are a lot of changes going on, so they haven't been able to get out and do things, but they do have activities there. They get meals. They have laundry available. Some of the staff are perfect, others are not so much. They allow the staff to park in the very closed spots, so the visitor parking is terrible. They have somebody at the front desk, but they don't know what's going on at the place."

"The Gatesworth is a very well-organized and well-run community with many amenities. The staff is courteous and helpful. They serve lunch and dinner and we prepare our own breakfast. We only went there once for breakfast. It was my kind of coffee and my kind of cereal; the other food was respectable. The activities are very good. I'm able to do their fitness and meditation classes, we go to movies, we often hear music, and entertainment comes in."

"Meramec Bluffs was very well-maintained. They had friendly people. There were large open areas and lots of services available just inside the building. Transportation sounded good. The green space looked good as well. The staff was very attentive and seemed like they were happy to be there. They've got a full time personal trainer to help with any needs you might have, whether it's just exercise classes or other stuff. They also had a gym, different apartments, a swimming pool, a hair salon, a bank, and a doctor's office. I saw everything that was there. The tour was really, really good."

"We went to the Willows at Brooking Park. It was an excellent place. It's very clean and inviting. The people were nice and the whole environment was nice. It's really nice, but it seemed pricey. "
