"I visited the Vi at La Jolla Village retirement community last December when I was on christmas vacation in San Diego. My grandparents live here and we went to visit them. It was my first time visiting since they moved there. It is a great place to live. It has a great location in San Diego, with many activities surrounding the place. The staff was very warm and helpful to us. It is cool how this place looks like a hotel, and that is because it used to be one. The layout of the building is very upscale as well. Everything is kept clean and is in order. There are also great amenities that my grand parents love. They also have great dining here, I was lucky enough to get to eat a few of their meals. It seems like it would be a great place to retire. I would recommend! "

"The best one was Redwood Terrace. It was very comfortable, the staff was very friendly, and it had a full memory care facility, which is what we needed for my grandparents. The facility was very clean and it didn’t feel like you’re in a hospital environment, it felt just like you were at home. The staff had been wonderful. They’ve been very friendly and were just very thoughtful, kind, and very resourceful. A lot of information that they provided to us was very helpful. "

"White Sands La Jolla reminds of a five-star resort for independent living, but the assisted living did not have easy to access ocean views and felt a little remote. The dining rooms were very nice, but the rooms were just adequate. The independent dining room overlooked the oceans, but in order for the people from the assisted living to go there, it was a pretty long walk. I would love to live there, but I wouldn’t want to be in the assisted living because it is not as close. It is definitely a positive independent living community, but for assisted living, some of the amenities were not as easily accessible. The staff was very nice. They did have lots of events they go to outside the facility. Everything was clean and neat. They also had the amenities, like a nurse on duty and a clinic area downstairs. "

"My father is in Mount Miguel Covenant Village. When you walk in, you don't smell anything. There's a nice little foyer, then you pass the nurse's desk to get to the rooms. It's all roommate style. The rooms are small, so only one person can sit down at a time. You have to sit on the bed to visit with your parents. They have a place where you can go to with a large conference table, have meetings with the staff or you can sit there with your parent. They have a lawned area that you can roll your parent out and it's nicely decorated with lots of flowers and just a pleasant outing. The food depends on your diet and it could be very bland. The staff is nice. The one thing I had concerns with is that if my dad tells an attendant something, sometimes the information doesn't get to the nurse. Like, if I come back from the doctor with my dad, I'll hand over the paperwork of what the doctor wants. It might be a medication change. You got to make sure that you relay that to the front desk and show them on the paperwork, "Hey, the doctor says he needs this and this" because a couple of days later, I'll ask, "Is he getting this?" The nurse will say, "What medication?" or "I didn't see that in any order." You have to make sure you check up on their appointments at the front desk if he's been scheduled. One time I almost missed the appointment because it wasn't scheduled, but they got it scheduled right away and transported him there. Everything else is good; they just need to work on that administrative area. They have bingo and artwork, anything to keep their mind going. They try to get you up and out of your bed, as much as possible. They try to have a lot of activities for them. Each person has their own TV. Each has a bathroom in the room and closets. They have their own dressers. The rooms are kind of small, but it's OK for rehab. I just have to make sure that all his needs are met as far as doctors change and getting him to his appointments. Otherwise, the staff is great."

"My husband and I have lived at CASA for over four years and really love the facility. This last year has been very challenging because of Covid19 but they have done a wonderful job of keeping all the residents very safe. The food is wonderful and the residents are very friendly. We love our apartment and never once doubted our move here. The staff is very dedicated to help us out with any issues/problems we may encounter quickly. I would recommend CASA to everyone I know who is looking to move into a facility of this type. It is also a non-profit which helps along with our year-end taxes."

"My grandmother has found a senior living care place a few days ago -- Merrill Gardens at Bankers Hill. I think it is a very nice place. It has a nice dining area. It's almost like a restaurant set-up downstairs. It is a very nice facility. All the apartments are like 600 to 800 square feet. They have a kitchenette. Also, after you go and have surgery, the nurses would come to your room for three or four days to check your vitals and your blood pressure and such. Your meals are provided with your rent. You can go downstairs in the dining room anytime of the day you want, and they'll prepare anything you want from the restaurant. It is very nice. It is not like a medical facility; it is just like a retirement living home. The rooms and the apartments are very nice. The bedroom is very nice. It's got an overlook of almost all of downtown, so you get a nice view. From what I've seen, everyday there are shopping trips where they take the residents who can't drive out to the store. There are movie outings, outings to Balboa Park, and outings to museums around there. There are outings for them just to go out and have a picnic or walk around and go to certain shopping areas in the area. There are some very nice activities. They have a very nice library and a reading area. They even have a wine bar. They have a huge patio too. The facility is in a very nice area. The security is all closed doors except they're open during the day until 7 p.m. at night. "
