"The visit was great, not just because we live in Simi Valley, but because of the services and their activities. We went there on unannounced visit and we also went on another tour, so we went there a couple of times, and it seems like there’s activities going on when you walk around; people are doing different games and puzzles, they have a movie room, and library. It just seemed like they had a lot more things happening, and the rooms actually seemed a little bit better as far as floor plan, and also the outside seemed more homey to that of an apartment. You can decorate them, and they have shadow boxes outside to make it more personable. Outside, they have like a little pond and different things, more like a big community. To me the staff was just super, super friendly and everyone was willing to answer your question. You could go anytime and join them and just pay an extra little fee, when you go to visit. We saw families come and just visiting and we saw more inter mingling and it just seemed more like a lot more activities going on. "

"I toured Porter Ranch Garden for my father. It was okay but the location seemed kind of run down. They seemed clean, but it was a pretty beaten-up house. They seemed engaging and the person that gave me the tour was very informative. The rooms were okay and pretty basic. They weren't great and the cost was higher than what I said we could afford. She told me four thousand and that was a no. I saw the room and the living space area in the backyard. The living room was okay. In the backyard, there was a patio, and it was kind of rundown. The cost seemed high for the place and needed an upgrade or of keeping things up to date."

"Oakmont of Simi Valley was absolutely beautiful. We were given a lovely tour by Caroline and it went very, very well. The thing is that it's a little more care than I need. It's assisted living and I'm more interested in independent living. It had excellent amenities. It's beautifully decorated and very comfortable, and the activities there seemed wonderful. They have a great screening room, a lounge, and a dining room that's gorgeous. The activities they listed were just terrific. The staff was charming, very informative, helpful, and very polite. The outdoor was gorgeous and beautifully laid out. It had a lovely courtyard where they were doing an activity like a popsicle event."

"We visited Vista at Simi Valley. We looked at their memory care and it was very good. We were shown several possible rooms. All the staff members that I observed or met seemed to be happy in their jobs. I didn't sense any underlying, negative attitude or anything. The residents that I was able to see all seemed happy to be there. It was clean too. They answered all our questions. I did not try their food but they sent food home with my friend and he enjoyed that."
