Assisted Living Communities in Casper, WY

"I toured a room at Garden Square Assisted Living of Casper and it was set up nicely to allow for spacious access from area to area. The rooms weren't as large as what my mom is used to navigating, but that might be a good thing. There were ample common areas for residents to gather if they wanted to. The lady who gave the tour was very personable and very in-depth in explaining to me where things were, how things worked around there, and what they try to accomplish daily with the residents. She was very good. They also showed me a location where families could get together and have a cookout or gatherings."

"Overall, Park Place seems to be okay. They're doing some remodeling and they're replacing carpet to upgrade the facility. I know my friend has issues with food. Sometimes it doesn't have much flavor and sometimes she thinks they really don't know how to cook. I noticed too that there's a fair amount of turnover of kitchen staff. "

"My mom has moved into Primrose Retirement Community of Casper. They have a pretty friendly staff. Her meals are cooked for her and they do her laundry. They pretty much take everything for her, which is nice. They've got a hairdresser, right there just down the hall from her, where she got her manicure and her hair. They've got lots of activities that she does, like bingo. And then they go to a room and the therapist gives them exercise. They have kind of home health care people coming in and working with her, exercising her brain and her body. The staff has been great. They've been very helpful. The food has been good. It's really expensive, but they take care of her very well."

"The building was well maintained and clean. The residents seemed content with the care of the nursing staff and activities provided. I spent much of my time following the nursing staff in their daily tasks and even got to sit with a therapist during a session. The nursing staff was quite caring and professional and most of the smaller tasks and cares were performed by a CNA staff. "

"Mountain Plaza Assisted Living is excellent, and they've been very, very helpful. It's a very friendly facility that's well-run. The food is excellent. They have bingo, darts, singalongs, and exercises. They have book readings. They have various singing groups come in and sing with you. They have outings. They have something every day from 8:30 to 5:00. My husband's apartment is very nice and very well-maintained."

"This facility is thought to be the best in Casper. I disagree for several reasons. I have encountered problems since the day I paid my deposit. I mislead in regards to the rooms that were available. Since then it's been something everyday since my mom moved in on August 16th. I think tonight may have been the last straw. I even decided to overlook the 2/3 puddles of vomit that remained on the concrete walkway in one of the courtyards ALL WEEKEEND..... Tonight she was given the wrong medication and verbally abused by a CNA. And, the same CNA was very sassy and disrespectful to me also. And even tho there was a witness, she denies that she was rude to me also. She continued to speak to me in this manner in front of the administrator and nursing supervisor. The administrator and Nursing Supervisor did come to the facilty and the medication error was corrected. Thankfully my mom does know her meds and didn't take the wrong one. Unfortunately the administrator, not being a witness to an incident, tends to place blame on the resident and or family member. Being a nurse myself with 25+ years of long term care experience I have never seen a family member being blamed for mistakes made the facility staff. Please do your research. Know your rights. Take notes!!!!! and photographs!!!! You will have to prove everything that you are having issues with. "
