My father is in Diversicare of Arab. Every time I'd go, it's clean and tidy, and there's no aroma of pee. The employees will look you in the eye and smile, and you can tell that they're glad to be there. They're sweet to my daddy. He really likes them and their care. He loves the bath and the shave they gave him. His face is smooth. They had to modify his diet because of his swallowing issues, so they puree. Their level of care is really good. I've been able to speak with someone and get the answers to questions 80% of the time. That's always important to me. Most of the time, I can easily get in touch with them. I liked what I saw of the rooms. It was pretty obvious that they were making sure that things were tidy around. There's just a lot of positives with that, but sometimes, there's not a lot of weekend staff, and they need more help. They have music and bingo. The activities are offered to him. He's next to the dining room, and he's right there at the nurse's desk, but the TV is his companion. I'm glad he's entertained somehow. His room got a nice big window with the little one-inch blinds on it. There's a light in there. It's not a dark room. It's got a little border of wallpaper around it and little short curtains on it too. About two-and-a-half years ago, he was in there for rehab, and the room was smaller, and it was next to the back porch that was covered, so you didn't get as much sunlight. This one, you can open it up, and he can see the residential area surrounding it. His room is fine with everything. It's an older facility, but it's kept up well. We are not paying that much more than we were for the assisted living memory care unit. I've just had minimal cost on his medicines because the insurance has been so good ar covering them. I think it's a really good value.
