Assisted Living of Arab was unpleasant. The rooms were dirty. They smoke right outside the front door and all that smoke goes inside. They don't do any activities. They showed me a shower where my mother would have showered because it wasn't in her room, and it was dirty. There's no way I could leave her there. It's a lot cheaper, but I couldn't do that to her. The sitting area was dirty as well. It needed repainting.

We have placed mom at Assisted Living of Arab. She has been taken care of, and we've been very pleased. The staff is great. They've been very pleasant, very helpful, very knowledgeable, and very friendly. We're very pleased with everything. It's a very good location. The food is very good. She's been very pleased with everything so far. I've been present when she's been having lunch and it looks very good. We've been very pleased with the pricing. It's better than what it would be if we had to put her in a nursing home.

My cousin has been there for about 4 weeks. It's nice, about 25 miles from my house. It's a 16-room unit and it's newer. She has 1 bedroom and a private bath. It was big enough for us to put a lot of furniture including her recliner and TV. Although she's going out into the main living area and sits there, which is helping her lot. We're happy with it and the price was great. The staff were very friendly. One of the staff even on her day off took her to the beauty shop to get her haircut and perm. The facility is older, but it's perfect for her. It's got a little nice, bright sitting room behind the dining area. I'm extremely happy with how she fits in and how it fits her. She's smiling all the time, which she didn't do. Her happiness there is worth more than anything. She has a smile on her face every time we go.
