I would not recommend VSN Hospice to anyone as they do not care properly for patients, nor do they place their best interests first. My mom left there dehydrated and her devise was not put on correctly which caused her to be in pain. They do not speak the truth when asked questions about the care of your loved one. Please do your research and find a place that places patients with a high standard level of care.

Northport Visiting Nurse and Hospice has been terrible. We were told things during intake that were not true. Then when our family member was on a short respite out of Suffolk County and contracted Covid and was therefore unable to return to home in Suffolk immediately, Northport Hospice kicked us out of their program. So much for helping patients and families through the difficulties in end of life stages.

Before admitting your love one, please make sure you are fully aware of the treatment that they are to receive esp. the meds. Visit your family member through out the day. I had visited one of my parents, they weren't receiving there pain meds as I was told they would. They bath someone like they are a wet doll, they are not gently in any way! It was a horrible experience!! Never would I put someone in hospice again!!!!
