This letter is in reference to the services offered and integrity of the geriatric care management business Care for Living. It was my pleasure to have engaged the services of Care for Living for my father George during the last few months of his life. Care for Living enabled my father to remain in our home during events that would have caused him to have to go in to see his physician, which was a burden for him due to his frail physical condition. The nurse case manager was able to interact with the physician over the phone and make changes in the home without my father needing to leave the house. Having the availability of 24/7 on-call services provided peace of mind knowing that we had this support and direction available at any time. Care for Living provided us with services that enhanced my father's life while at home, as well as care, direction and support for our family during the difficult, emotional last few days of his life, including a period of five days of hospital care. No only did they provided advocacy for him in the hospital, to ensure the services he was receiving were appropriate, but they also helped my family and me understand the process and the likely outcomes of treatments during this time. This provided us with much appreciated direction and comfort throughout the process. The knowledge, expertise and passion that Care for Living has for their clients is evident in every aspect of the care we received from them and I would be happy to recommend their services to others seeking to keep their parent in their own home. When you are past 90 years old and pretty much confined to your lounger and wheelchair, you need help, and lots of it. Much of this burden has fallen upon my spouse who is 91 himself. We need a regular helper to get us through some of the daily grind but more importantly we needed a support system. Both our children live out of town and Care for Living has been a God send to us not to mention a life saver. We have peace of mind, as do our children, knowing they are always at the ready for whatever is needed. Care for Living has offered some practical answers to what were very baffling situations to us. The assistance they've offered towards different medical situations has been invaluable and helped keep us out of the hospital by identifying issues early on and taking action. Then generous nature of our nurse really shines through and her geriatric expertise is most impressive. My husband and I would be in a care facility if we didn't have Care for Living looking after us. I highly recommend them for anyone who wants to stay in their home if at all possible.
