Alternatives in Home Care

I already wrote a review for Home Care provided by Alternatives. This site only lets me pick one category at a time, so I want to write a review about this agency's care management as well. Mom also receives Geriatric Care management with Angelika R. being her assigned care manager. Angelika is involved in the day to day interactions with her staff, accompanies my mom to all medical and therapy appointments and personally visits mom at least once a week. She is there for mom when we go out of town in case of an emergency. Responsive and reliable!

We have the best experience with this agency. The owner--Angelika- is responsive, mature and experienced in the senior care field. Great caregivers who work with my mother with a sense of humor and are kind and well trained. Always on time, no staff turnover that we are aware of. We had the same two caregivers since we started service for mom. We have been with Alternatives for 9 months. Very Happy with the service!

The provider has been taking care of my mother for the past 3 years. She has dementia and can be very difficult at times. The caregivers have been compassionate and patient with my mother. They take her to Dr apt's and handle emergencies well. The caregivers keep in constant contact with the manager/owner at all times. I never have to worry about anything. I get updates and with this team effort I have been able to keep my 87 year old mother in her own home. Great company with great caregivers.

Mom came to live with us 2 years ago and we soon realized that she was not safe alone at home. We hired a well known agency in Tucson and we were disappointed. Then we tried another one closer to home right here in Oro Valley. Their staff did not know much about dementia. Then we stumbled on Alternatives. Angelika came for a visit and evaluated my mom's needs and the next day she introduced us to a caregiver. Make a long story short: All is well. The staff and the administrator are awesome! Reliable, well trained, courteous and respectful. Could not ask for more and mom is safe and happy. Thank you Alternatives!

My husband broke his pelvis. Alternatives was with him in the rehab facility (came at a moments notice!) and came to our home when he was released. They took him from needing 12 hrs./day care, to just 3 hours in the mornings. At first they were with him at night when he got up and wandered -- allowing me to get some much needed sleep. They help him to dress, feed him breakfast, do minor housekeeping, The caregivers are caring and sensitive to his needs and to his privacy and timely. The office is flexible and was able change things around as his needs or circumstances changed -- even with short notice. They also helped me to find a reputable company when we moved to our summer home. We are very satisfied with Alternatives in Home Care!
