The Oaks is a very nice community and relatively small as opposed to the other ones with hundreds of units. This only has 37 units, so you're pretty much a member of a community. You're not going to be lost in the crowd like in a large community. It's relatively rural. You look out the back window, and there's nothing but trees and grass. They only serve one mid-day meal. It's as nice as any hotel I've ever stayed in. The people are caring, and it's clean.

If you are looking for a true "Adult Living" type facility in a semi-rural location, I think you've found one of the best. When I say Adult Living, I mean just that. At the time of my visit there was not one person seen using a walker or wheelchair. This is as opposed to many facilities that I've seen where most people are very handicapped and barely above the "Assisted Living" level. The people living here are ACTIVE adults. If you want a friend to go hunting, fishing or golfing with, I think that you can find one here

The Oaks was a very nice place. It was exceptionally clean and felt very homey because it is an independent living facility. People there went out to buy groceries, have coffee, or drove around in the afternoon, and then came home. There weren't a lot of people available when I went there. The staff was very friendly.
