"The rooms at Kings Grant Retirement Community were adequate. The dining room was beautiful and the kitchen was nice. The people were nice. They have a much smaller resident ratio to the staff. There were more people working there than there are in the average assisted living, but you pay for that attention. The staff were very professional. They have RN, LPN, as well as CNA. "

"I would have loved to known about the Day Care earlier in mom's disease process. They work so hard with their clients. Mom recently started there in November 2011 and in her advanced stage of Alzheimers I can tell a difference in her on the one day a week that she attends. They have different activities all day, Some of these include music, pet, physical, occupational therapy. Moms favorite activity is baking cookies and painting. She always tells everyone she loves them before she leaves. They deserve a BIG high five! Awesome! If I won this gift I think I would go see a movie and have a quiet lunch. "

"My relative have been with the facility for over 10 years now. 2012. I did not have any complaints when the nursing facility was Blue Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center. The staff there was good and I did not have any complaints but other family members I heard from were not satisfied. Ms. Preston was always keeping me informed on the status of my relative and her care. Mulberry Creek Nursing & Rehab Center new staff seems to be the same way. They keep me informed and abreast on my relatives care, any colds that she may have, any new medication prescribed, & etc. I want to give a big thumbs up to The Manager, Ms. Wendy (OUTSTANDING!!), Ms. Dillard, & her entire team day & evening shift. Sometimes, we have to take a moment to recognize the work that they put in being under staffed, dealing with the COVID crisis, and still doing the best that they can to care for our love ones. I would recommend Mulberry Creek Nursing & Rehab Center, and that is just my opinion. "

"My husband was in Mulberry Creek Assisted Living two years ago and he was there maybe 10 or 11 months. They were really good to him, and he liked that place. It's near my house. The staff is very, very nice. They have been very helpful to get him in, and very easy to register him and everything. Everybody has just been super nice. The nurses and the cleaning staff have been so nice to him and friendly. He's really having a good time because he's very, very outgoing and talkative, and he talks to them all, and two of them told me that they loved him. They're doing really well with food. They don't give him beef. They give him exactly what he has to have. He says it's good and he's enjoying it. He's eaten a whole lot better than he did at home. They have a very good chef, and the food is good. Last year, when he was there before, I ate there a lot, and they always had good food. It's nice, and they keep it clean. They have a lady who's walking around all day, making sure everything is clean. I don't enjoy having to pay that much, but it's pretty reasonable, and I'm satisfied with that too."

"I visited this facility in April 2012 to see my aunt. She was on the South end of the facility. I found everyone there to be very friendly. The receptionist at the door greeted us and knew exactly what room my aunt was in. As we walked down the hall, the area smelled like what could have possibly been dirty diapers or human odor. I'm sure that that's common in facilities such as this, and I only smelled it on my way in and not my way out. My aunt was in good spirits and said everyone there had been real nice to her. She had just finished eating and said the food wasn't too bad considering where she was. We stayed about an hour or so until my cousin came in to visit and as I had my wife and four children with me which was a room full in a semi private room, I politely excused us and we made our way back to the front. All the nurses and aides seemed friendly and played with my children. The facility did appear clean throughout. All in all, if I had to go to a facility of this nature, I believe I would like it to be this one. "

"Stanleytown Health & Rehab has good rehab service. They're excellent. The nurses and aides are fine most of the time, but they're understaffed so sometimes the people who are supposed to wait on my husband are slow. He would have occupational therapy and physical therapy once a day. I think they do the best they can, and the food is excellent."

"Harmony Hall has improved SO MUCH this year! It's exciting! The atmosphere of the entire place has greatly improved. People are happy like never before. The dining room is being removed and looks fabulous! They have more activities than they have had before. They have much better food....I ate Bar-B-Q up ribs there last week. People were going back for 2nd and 3rd plates of food. So blessed to have my family member here!!! "

TLC Adult Home is owned and operated by family members who make it their goal to strive toward providing a safe and home like environment for their residents. LC Adult Home has obtained a state license in residential and assisted living, therefore we are expected to follow procedures and regulations originated and amended by the state. We have regular unannounced visits by Social Services as well as the Health Department. Our home is very spacious with hardwood floors, easy for safe ambulation. The family room has cathedral ceilings and a rock fireplace giving it a comfortable setting for activities as well as visiting with family members and friends. We serve 3 hot meals daily along with snacks. Quarterly visits by a registered dietitian to meet nutritional needs. As well as professional hairdresser services. Laundry service and pharmacy delivery is also provided for our residents. We also offer 2 large walk-in showers that are handicapped accessible along with a Jacuzzi bath. All living facilities are on the ground floor. We provide 24 hour care 7 days a week. "We've been to The Bayberry Inn 3 times, and my mom's already got a room reserved. It's closer to where we're gonna be living, she didn't wanna be too far away that she couldn't drive to our house. It was the closest one we can find that's suitable to her. The staff is excellent they're the best; real friendly and nice. It's a small community, they only have 21 rooms so it's small, and they treat them like family. It's very clean, in excellent condition, and actually the room mom is getting is being painted, and new carpet, new tile in the bathroom, and they're gonna steam clean the curtains, and they take real good care of it. They've had no COVID in there at all, and they're picky of who comes to visit. It's just an excellent place. The layout is all indoors, and momma wouldn't have to go out in the weather to go somewhere and visit somebody, and now she does. It just got a nice, real nice homely feeling to it. They clean the rooms every day if you want them, they supply furniture, but mom wants to bring her own, and they take them on trips, they do games, crafts, bingo, and chair exercises."

"We took a tour of North Pointe of Mayodan yesterday, and it seemed like a nice place. It was really clean, and the staff looked good. It seems everybody is doing a good job. They probably have 50 or 60 rooms or apartments, and they have all kinds of stuff going on. They were putting together puzzles. They were doing a little paint by numbers. It was just a little bit of everything. There were two or three different places they were using. The have a dining area. They have a couple of what they call parlors, where they could sit around and talk. It all seemed to be good."
