I visited this facility

We've been to The Bayberry Inn 3 times, and my mom's already got a room reserved. It's closer to where we're gonna be living, she didn't wanna be too far away that she couldn't drive to our house. It was the closest one we can find that's suitable to her. The staff is excellent they're the best; real friendly and nice. It's a small community, they only have 21 rooms so it's small, and they treat them like family. It's very clean, in excellent condition, and actually the room mom is getting is being painted, and new carpet, new tile in the bathroom, and they're gonna steam clean the curtains, and they take real good care of it. They've had no COVID in there at all, and they're picky of who comes to visit. It's just an excellent place. The layout is all indoors, and momma wouldn't have to go out in the weather to go somewhere and visit somebody, and now she does. It just got a nice, real nice homely feeling to it. They clean the rooms every day if you want them, they supply furniture, but mom wants to bring her own, and they take them on trips, they do games, crafts, bingo, and chair exercises.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

On the plus side: always clean and there are a couple of workers who care about the residents. However, the upper management doesn't follow through on services that are supposed to be provided. Our family member was taken to the ER in the county. Upon discharge, lead manager (corporate) said there was no one to pick her up. Their brochure states they provide transportation to and from appointments in the county. They act like they're doing you a favor just to do what they promise. Please think twice before sending your loved one to the Eden location.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I visited my great aunt who had been living in this facility for about four months until she passed away in July. I made weekly visits during the time she was a resident of this facility. She was diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer's so this facility was ranked well for this type of care. The facilities always appeared to be clean and seemed to be a pleasant place to live. Dining and recreation room was always decorated nicely and maintained well by staff. Each time I visited, it did seem like my aunt had a different nurse or nursing assistant. Most had great attitudes and appeared to genuinely care about my aunt and her care. There were probably one or two nurses who appeared to not care much about their job or had not so professional attitudes. I met the Executive Director when my aunt was admitted and she was extremely kind and thorough about explain about the care she would receive at this facility. Although I never tried the actual food served, it appeared to be decent. Overall, I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for an assisted living unit for their elderly family member.
