Colonial Heights was good. I was not impressed with the wards because they were too full. There were two patients to a small room, and they had to share a bathroom with two more patients. My husband had only been there like a week. He was put in with all kinds of patients in a nursing home. They didn't have a special wing for Alzheimer's, so he was put in with everybody. I never saw the room. I only saw one on a tour, and I was very unhappy to put him in there. I must say that the staff went overboard to be generous and accommodating in every way to me. He cannot talk for himself, so they would talk to me every time I called. The staff there was excellent as far as trying really hard to serve everybody. They got locked down too, while he was in there. I went to see him, but couldn't. They had a nice cafeteria. They had a physical therapy area, but the wings were overcrowded. They admitted that they didn't have enough staff. I would call and nobody would even answer the phone or switchboard; they were just running. They were so crowded and so low staffed. When you first go in, it's all new, shiny and pretty. As you go back into where the patients are, it was too crowded. There were too many people.
