I have moved into Alate Old Town. You have to be 62 and over to live here. It is convenient for public transportation, and it has restaurants not far from here, right in the local area. They also serve breakfast here five or six days a week, and they serve dinner twice a week, Wednesdays and Sundays, which is a plus, as I don't have to cook. It's very nice living here. It's quiet. I believe they said the building is only one year old. I only dealt with one person, the lady I signed the lease with and all, and she was very helpful. She showed me places that I needed, like where the garage is and stuff like that. So, they were very helpful. The facility is very new, and they have washers and dryers in each unit, which is a plus for me. I don't know anything about the activities yet, but they do have an exercise room with treadmills and everything on each floor. I pay 30% of my income, so it's good.

I will move to Alate Old Town. I wanted a single-story home but couldn't find one close to my son. This was a few blocks away and is a walkable place. You don't need a car. They have a gym class and a yoga class. They have a dining area. They serve breakfast every day and two dinners a week. The place is immaculate, and the staff was informative.

My tour of Alate Old Town went great. I enjoyed the lady who gave me the tour. It meets all my criteria, except there's no pool. They showed me a two-bedroom, and it was furnished. That was all well and good, and it's close to little shops downtown. I like the area and everything, but it's so far from some of my doctors. The staff who gave the tour was very thoughtful. I had to sit down a few times, because for some unknown reason I got lightheaded, but she was there and she took her time. She was very patient with me. So, I really enjoyed the tour.

I have moved into Alate Old Town, a new facility in Alexandria. I like the amenities that they have. They have activities like yoga once or twice a week. It's very friendly senior living. They have a music room and an art room. They have an outside grill too. They even have a place for the grandchildren. If you have them over they have a room downstairs where the grandkids can go and play. They also have a dining room where you can have a family gathering, so you can have friends and family come over. If you don't want to eat in your apartment, you can go to the dining room area, which is a couple of feet away from where you reside. It is very comfortable. We have a TV on each floor. We even have a doctor's office, so it's very convenient for 62+ independent living. I haven't eaten any, but they have meals. They serve breakfast, and occasionally they serve food during activities like paint and sip. It all depends on what the plan is for the week. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. It's pleasing and satisfying the way that they meet your needs as much as possible. I just feel like they should have apartments with rent based on income.
