I just moved into Fort Lane Apartments. Right now I'm waiting for them to fix the light in the bathroom, but other than that it's pretty good. It's very clean, but there's not a lot of flowers. I like flowers, not rocks. I've got artificial flowers everywhere and I can't wait to get my live ones over here. The staff was a little bit slow, but so am I. Other than that, they've been pretty good. I've put in a couple orders that haven't been filled yet for the bathroom. They don't have food. You have a dishwasher, a stove, a refrigerator, and cabinets. You're on your own. The washer and dryer are too small. I can't even get a full load in the washer and they want $2 a load, so I'm going to find something outside. You don't get any benefits, like food or your own kitchen. The playroom, as they call it, is empty all the time. Nobody goes in there. You have to smoke outside, which I don't care, because I don't smoke. It's cheaper than most places. It's $1,000 a month. I think we have to pay our own electric bill, so lights don't stay on all the time. It's just a home to put you in so you're not homeless. It takes three-fourths of my check. I asked them if I could get the senior public help and assistance, and they said no. It is not really what I would care for, but it's better than nothing. I've got two bedrooms, one is a den, and one to do my hobbies in. I would have liked a downstairs room, but this one's upstairs, and I was glad to get it. I have two dogs, which in a lot of places is a restriction.

I toured Fort Lane. The rooms didn't feel comfortable. They're darker, and the facilities are not as well-kept as the other facilities, where you have to walk between the buildings to get to the front. There's no main lobby where everyone can congregate. There is no common area for everybody, and it's not comfortable for me. The person who was managing it was very young and didn't have as much experience doing this, but he was enthusiastic.

I toured Fort Lane Apartments. They're barebones. I would call them minimal amenities. The grounds seemed to have been well-kept. The area was pleasant. For the price, it was nice and well-kept. The staff who gave the tour was personable. The dining area for every day looked acceptable. They had sort of like a game room and a gathering place that could have been used for family, a party, or something like that, and that was nicely equipped. No food would have been offered because it would have been on your own.

I went to Fort Lane Apartments. I like that it was clean, that the premises were clean, the apartments were clean, and the clubhouse was clean. It was a little drab, but that's okay. Not a big deal. The staff was great. The cleanliness of the facility was very good. It has a very friendly and very nice atmosphere.
