Las Alturas de Peñitas is a new facility. They have three halls and they have nursing staff. I like the place. It had everything I was looking for. It is beautiful. It hasn't been open very long. I got a chance to meet some of the staff as we were walking by. There are nursing stations, and everybody seemed to be pleasant. The staff was also really good. They have a medical staff 24 hours there and I like that because they deal with Alzheimer's and dementia. Each hall has different levels. Like they have an area for ones who don't need very much and that they're there just to be helped out with daily living, and then they have an area for patients who are sicker, so I like the separation and stuff like that. The security is pretty much the same as in the other place. You can only go in through the front. For activities, in the cafeteria area, there was a little drawing area, and they had several residents there. Some of them were drawing, some in wheelchairs, and some not. Some were having snack time and they were having activities. The rooms were clean. Those rooms were empty. Overall, they were good-sized. The facility is pretty big. They have areas outside for the residents, too. It is kept clean.

My father went in for an injury for therapy and came out 2 times worse. Now he has an ulcer on his foot because they wouldn’t move him. Now he might get amputated because of that. Also, terrible service regarding ants. Horrible. He will never go back there.
