My grandmother has already moved into Manor Park. She chose it. She has a couple of friends that are already there, and has a group of ladies that she has coffee with once a week, who sat with her and kind of told her that when they get ready to sell their home that that's where they'll be going. She's in independent living right now, but what she liked about it was that when it comes time to go to assisted living, it's a very easy transaction. Our whole goal throughout this was to get her where she was happy and safe. The place offers almost like a GPS pendant, so if she needs help with anything, she could push the button. She can have people there within a matter of seconds, rather than having to call us and wait until we get there. The staff was great. We were there for over an hour and got to see everything. They have a facility that is almost like a school for the staff members' kids who are there, so they get to interact with the children as well. They have a church, a post office in the building, a restaurant, and a pharmacy. Everything is right there. It's really good. Before we got her furniture transferred from Dallas out here, she went into the apartment with her dog, sat down on the floor, and was going through the brochures and kind of visualizing where to put things, and she had an issue of getting up because she had sat on the floor. She pushed her button on the pendant, and she said it didn't take 20 seconds, and there were people in there helping her get up, making sure she was OK. We ate at the restaurant and the food was very, very good. It's almost like going in and sitting at a restaurant. There are a lot of different choices, and when you walk in, there's a cashier just like a restaurant, and I know all residents get one meal a day through the restaurant for free. I was very satisfied with it. She goes to the church, so it's one chapel that's there, and each day they have a different belief system that will come in and do a service that day. They also have a monthly planner. I know one of the things is bingo, a baseball game, and city council meetings. They have a bus system. They go in and check off everything they would like to do that month, and the ones that can drive can go, or if they need a ride out there, they provide one. You get on what they call a priority list, where if a studio or something bigger or something different comes up available, you're first in line if you want to move over into that place. The common areas are very nice. I know one is kind of around the restaurant area. There is one right before the chapel. There's always water and free coffee available. If the person is happy, to me, that's all that matters.

I'm at Village at Manor Park. I love it. I've been here for two years now. It's a very comfortable house. I have a three-bedroom-two-bath house. The yards are maintained. Everything is maintained outside the home. It includes maid service once a week. Any maintenance that I need inside the home, I just call, and they come and fix whatever needs to be done. There are multiple meal options and places to go for meals, or we can cook at home, which I do mostly. They have lots of activities, especially before COVID. It's kind of not as much now with COVID going on, but that's true everywhere. There's transportation to the grocery store and transportation to doctor's visits, and all of that is at no charge. If we need a personal trip, there's valet service and we pay for that. The staff is very helpful. I have not had any problems. With anything I need, they have someone available to talk to me and help me solve my problems. I think the staff has been great.

Village at Manor Park did a really good job with getting my husband stable enough to go to another facility. The therapy and the nursing were excellent. He was at the skilled nursing rehab. They kept his room clean. It's an older building, but it was in good condition. The staff made up for any shortcomings. They had caring people who work there. They took care of their patients. They're so caring that he had lost his jacket, and they found and brought it over to the facility where he is now.
