My mother was here last year. She steadily went downhill during the time she was there. They did not process her Medicaid in a timely manner. She had covid and pneumonia twice and debilitating bedsores. She was x-rayed and it showed a fracture but no explanation how it happened. After her Medicaid was approved, we finally moved her, but it was too late. She passed away within 2 weeks. I blame Laporte Health Care for the quality of care she received.

Residents left by themselves for hours with minimal supervision. Most of the staff were inattentive. You question them on the residents care, they cop an attitude. I would not put my worst enemy in there, low moral, management does not care, resident will pass away.

The food was very good and served on time for every meal. The rooms are nice but small for two beds and there are no bathrooms in the rooms. Overall, the facility is kept clean and organized. The residents enjoy activities like bingo, card games and crafts but most of the time was spent viewing television. Residents were left for many hours to view television without any assistance to get up for physical activity. Some of the staff were friendly but there were several that really should not be in the healthcare field because they are disrespectful and argumentative with the residents. Very bad profanity was used to address residents. The facility is either understaffed or the available staff members are not very attentive to the needs of the residents. I witnessed residents begging for their needs to be met and I was often asked for help by residents when visiting my mother. My biggest complaint was that one of the members of the staff asked me for money. I reluctantly gave it to her because I was afraid that she would do something to my mother if I didn't give it to her as she implied that residents get whatever treatment she get from the family! Disgusting!!!

My mother is in Laporte Healthcare Center. They make good food. The people are really nice and friendly. It's really nice. They share rooms that have two beds, dressers, and a little nightstands. You have to furnish the TV yourself. They don't have a phone and don't have their own restroom.
