"I toured the memory care of Mercy House Victoria. I liked that it had an outdoor spot for the residents to walk. That was really important for my mother. She loves to walk to see nature and everything was secured there. It was nice, neat, and clean. The food was provided (three meals a day). They had an activity going on there where they were singing, they had tambourines, and they were playing. So, they have a lot of activities. They're pet-friendly as long as it's house brought and small, and they were talking about letting Mom and Dad bring our Boston Terrier, which was really nice. The person that gave me the tour was distracted and I was more of an afterthought. I don't think that he was expecting me, and I just kind of felt like it was just kind of "OK, here it is," but he wasn't rude or anything. The facility was pretty immaculate, but somebody had gone to the restroom and didn't flush the toilet. It was clean but there was pee in the toilet. Then there were poop stains on one of the bedspreads. That was what it looked like. Nothing smelled, but you all are showing me this room, and it's got that. I know poop happens because I care for my parents and sometimes it doesn't wash out. So, maybe that was the case. Everything else was nice."

"Vitality Court in Victoria assisted living is very well kept. It's like walking into a nice hotel or resort. The staff was very knowledgeable and very accommodating. My mom got tired during the tour process, so they got a wheelchair and we stayed longer than we thought. We had lots of questions and they were able to answer everything. We have not tried the food but we've been invited back to select a day and just let them know to eat lunch with them, which we thought of doing. The residents love their bingo. They have a very nice fitness room and, daily almost, they have other activities or a workout in the activities room, which I hope my mom will participate in. The apartments that are available at this time are to the far end of the buildings, which is probably good. It means a long walk for my mom to go to the dining room. Other than that, every single one looked really good."

"My cousin was at 801 Gramman Assisted Residence, so I'm very familiar with it. It's a private pay facility and it's almost $3000 a month. That's more than my friend can afford to pay. It's a very clean, professional,, and very friendly facility. The staff during the tour was professional and friendly. It's a very nice place. I did not this time, but I've eaten there in the past. It was assisted living, but you have to be mobile."

"Retama Manor isnt the newest nursing facility in the area but they definitely have some of the best staff! Also the food they offer is pretty darn good. "

"Staff let my Grandmother, who has dementia, walk right out their door. Police and staff were frantic looking for her! Thank you to the kind stranger who came across my grandmother making her get away with her walker and got her home safely. Praise God a decent person is the one who found her! "

"They had activities at The Courtyard. I noticed the personnel treated my mother with respect, and I liked that. The reason I rated it a little bit higher was because the facility was smaller, and cleaner. I felt like my mother would fit in at The Courtyard. They had a very personable, and helpful lady running the place. There was an area in the building that they were not using, and they had turned it into two brand-new rooms. The rooms themselves were a little bit better than the ones at the other facility. They were not spacious, but they were clean. "
