"Staff let my Grandmother, who has dementia, walk right out their door. Police and staff were frantic looking for her! Thank you to the kind stranger who came across my grandmother making her get away with her walker and got her home safely. Praise God a decent person is the one who found her! "

"They had activities at The Courtyard. I noticed the personnel treated my mother with respect, and I liked that. The reason I rated it a little bit higher was because the facility was smaller, and cleaner. I felt like my mother would fit in at The Courtyard. They had a very personable, and helpful lady running the place. There was an area in the building that they were not using, and they had turned it into two brand-new rooms. The rooms themselves were a little bit better than the ones at the other facility. They were not spacious, but they were clean. "

"I found Twin Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and I’m going to move my mother in November. We went and toured it last month and made all the arrangements. It was very nice. It seemed very clean and they had very nice staff. We talked to the dietician -- and my daughter is a dietician -- so that was very important to me. We talked to the activities director and to a lot of staff there. They have birds in cages and fish in tanks so the residents feel like they have pets, but don’t have to take care of them, and my mom seemed pretty happy with it. They have a nice gazebo and some gardens out back where the residents get fresh air and enjoy the outdoors. They have several different places where the residents can gather and visit to play dominoes and cards. They have a lot of activities planned for the residents, and they have 3 different dining areas so they’re very nice. "

"Considering the facility, and my mother’s lifestyle; the top place for us was Elmcroft. The staff members were excellent. They had bingo, cards, and church services. We were invited for a meal, and I thought the food was excellent. "

"I found this facility welcoming and very clean. There were plenty of activities available for residents and the staff was very friendly. "

"My mother was at Woodridge. She had good care there. She was well taken care of. They were very nice. She had some bedsores, and they had cleared up those bedsores. The rooms were adequate. Food was alright. Woodridge was very good. "

"Cuero Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was a really fairly good place. I had a few problems whenever I visited my husband, sometimes when I would go there he would be laying there covered up. When I asked why he's laying there at that time of the day, they said that they asked him to go take a nap but then he'd lay there a long time. I understand that they were busy and were sometimes understaffed, but I saw a few things like that that I did not like. Their rooms were pretty good. I didn't like them having to share, but their shared rooms are probably because of Medicare. Their other rooms are pretty expensive and when we had to pay out of pocket to get a private room, it was very expensive. My bill would have been a thousand dollars more a month. Luckily, he got a roommate from the same town and they got along. I did not like the food, it was pretty tasty but it was salty and greasy. My husband kept gaining weight. He started out about 150 pounds, he was there for 6 months and by the time he got out he was already 209 pounds, so I'm not too happy about that either."

"My father was placed here because of wounds and signs of dementia. I have visited often and found him to be of a good state of mind. But sad to see his shared room is small, his toilet still doesn’t work, on doctors visits he has to eat whatever is left. All his socks were stolen, he had to have my nephew go buy him some more. His treats we buy him he puts in his draw and they still them. No responsible person to account for it. He has a tumor on his ear doctor said needs to be removed immediately, they don’t call and tell us anything, they don’t know when the procedure is going to happen!!! We have no other facility for him, they need to be held accountable!"

"John Paul II provided exceptional care for my mother. The entire staff is compassionate, loving, kind,professional and patient. This truly does become a home for the residents and their families. The Sisters and staff have become like family to me as I continue to attend Mass there and volunteer. I highly recommend John Paul II Nursing Home and will be forever grateful for the loving care they took of my mom and family "
